We laughed at his attempt to lighten the mood, and we fell asleep. Maybe, if we're lucky, something exciting might happen tomorrow, or something.

~~~
Snap. Someone's figure darted around the area.
What the hell? I quickly shake Deidara awake, and when he tried to express the fact that he was sleeping, I leaned up to his ear and covered his mouth. He didn't bother protesting.
"Listen, Kid. Someone's around here. Do as I say." My tone is serious, and I'm close enough that I can see my breath move the blonde hair behind his ear. He nodded his head.
"Don't. Blow. Anything. Up. Not yet, at least. We don't know their abilities." I grab my cloak and my poisoned blade.
A young girl emerged from the woods. She's likely Deidara's age, she's short. Only about to my shoulders. She had a slim figure. Her dark skin tone paired perfectly with her curly dark purple hair that seemed to reach her butt. She wore ninja attire, only she didn't have a headband visible. That is, until she pulled a Cloud village headband out from her shirt and used it to tie her hair up.
"I know who you are, Akatsuki! She spat. Her voice was high-pitched, borderline annoying.
"So, you're Samichi. I didn't expect to be killing a child. What a shame." Deidara stuck his hand into his bag of clay, which I stopped, shaking my head and mouthing 'not yet.'
"Save it, Quick One! Shut up and fight me!" Scratch that. She's not bordering annoying, she is. She seems to know about my speed, odd. I didn't think she'd have intel on us as individuals.
"Hmph. How do you know about my speed?"
"Are you kidding? Everyone knows you, they all call you the Rapid Killer!" She takes fighting stance and draws a kunai. This new information definitely surprised me, but I'm not letting Samichi know that.
"I see. Well, it was a mistake coming here by your lonesome." Deidara stayed silent as I spoke.
"Ha! You only wish it was a mistake!" She lunged forward toward me. I moved aside and punched her in her gut. She hit the ground with a thud, and making a low groan.
I performed the hand signs for fireball jutsu and she was hit, causing some of the skin on her arm to peel away. Deidara took my use of ninjutsu as an okay for him to make some clay bombs, so he did. There were eight, and they took the shape of spiders. They each blew up a few seconds apart. She managed to dodge them all, but in the dust, I get my chance to use my sword. Slicing through the emerging dust, I hope for at least one hit.
Luck seems to be on my side this time around. Not that our opponent seeking us out isn't luck, but, as soon as my blade hits her skin, we're at an advantage. Not going to lie, I underestimated this kid big time. She's not as quick as me, not even close, but she's good on her feet.
"Dammit!" Samichi yells. Deidara takes the time she's down to throw a clay bomb at her, causing her to fall backward.
"I have to kill you now." I smiled at her, and pushed my blade through her chest.
