"You've suffered, Sasuke. I know better than anyone. You don't have to believe me, but I needed to tell you the truth. Because... I want you to meet Indira."

After a little battle and much convincing, Sasuke was following Itachi and I to the house.
Sure it was a huge risk. He could tell the Leaf of our location and we'd die, but being a ninja is about sacrifice. Itachi and I knew that. Sasuke was essentially in shock after he found out about the true reasons of the Uchiha massacre.
Itachi also stayed quiet, likely because he had to dig up such a painful subject. I tried my best to help him by grabbing his hand and giving him a reassuring look. There's not a lot of things that get him so stirred up. I kept a close eye on Sasuke to make sure he didn't try anything stupid. I'd hate myself if Itachi-- or Sasuke got hurt.
After quite a while of walking, we'd finally reached the house. The moment the door clicked open, Itachi's clone was gone and Indira was running to the door.
"Papa! Mama! You're back!" She hugged me to the best of her ability and Itachi picked her up and placed a kiss on her cheek. Her face scrunched up into confusion when she saw Sasuke. She pointed to him leaning against the doorframe. They studied each other closely.
"Papa, who's that? He looks just like you." She whispered to Itachi. A smirk crawled onto Itachi's face as he looked over to his younger brother.
"That's your uncle. His name is Sasuke. He's my brother." Itachi laughed and put Indira down and she walked slowly to Sasuke, who knelt down to meet Indira's height.
"Hi." Sasuke said simply. He did have a little smile, barely noticeable, but it was there nonetheless. Indira studied Sasuke's forehead and poked his headband.
"You have one of those too? You must be a ninja, just like my mama and papa." Indira stepped closer and Sasuke as he closed the door and stepped into the house.
"Yeah. Do you know what a ninja does?" He asked as he removed his headband. He now held it neatly in his palm offering it to Indira. She quickly scooped it up and tried to tie it on her head. When she couldn't, Sasuke did it for her. It was too big for her little forehead and almost covered her eyes, but she paid it no mind as a huge smile spread across her face. One that perfectly matched her father's as he watched his beloved daughter and brother create bond; one Itachi knew would last.
"Yep! A ninja protects their loved ones and village at any cost. That's what Papa told me. But I never ever see him or Mama wearing his." Indira had the metal of the headband clasped in her hand.
"That's because they've already done all they could for their loved ones and village." I felt guilty because I hadn't left the village for the sake of it, but because I was a love sick teenager who wanted the company of her best friend. I don't regret it, though. I think I made the right choice. Itachi, though. He dearly missed his clansmen and parents, and Shisui. He missed the leaf as well. He knows he had to do what he did. Except for my mother and father, I don't have anything left for me in Konoha. The Akatsuki are like my family. Even those reeking with bloodlust like Hidan and Kisame.
