CHAPTER 20

THE NEXT MORNING

CHARLOTTES POV

Hayes slept over that night, and when I woke up, he wasn't next to me. I went downstairs and saw them all sitting at the counter. "Good morning" Hayes said giving me a kiss on the cheek.

Nash must've slept over as well, because he was looking all over the place for food. "I'll uh be right back" Brooke said and dashed up the stairs. I took the advantage and dashed upstairs after her. "I'll be right back!" I said reaching the top of the stairs.

I went into Brooke's room and slammed the door behind me. I took the advantage to talk to her about leaving the evidence all over the place.

HAYES POV

"Do you ever wonder if they lie to us?" Nash asked
"Sometimes" I mumbled. Nash and I exchanged looks and both darted up the stairs insanely quiet. We put our ears to Brooke's door and listened to their conversation.

"Honestly Brooke you can't leave that stuff lying around the room! Mom and dad could find it Brooke! You know what it will be like when they find out?" Charlotte scream/whispered.

"Yeah I know ok calm down. It was only there because I was just looking at it" Brooke said quietly.
"Why Brooke? You want to remind yourself of that night?" Charlotte asked angrily.
"I wanted to see if we were in any of the pictures so I could burn it" she said very quiet.

"Ok fine. You have to be more careful. What would happen if nash and Hayes found out?" Charlotte asked in a frustrated tone. "I don't want to know. I get it, I'll be more careful and they won't find out" Brooke said really quietly.

What happened that they can't tell us? Why aren't they telling us?

I was determined to find out, and I know nash was too. We both looked at eachother and dashed downstairs.

Brooke and Charlotte came downstairs and put a smile on their face. We ate breakfast and decided to stay around here for today, and tomorrow her parents are coming back for Thanksgiving and then their leaving again.

TIME SKIP TO 4 DAYS LATER

CHARLOTTES POV

Today was thanksgiving. My parents came back but have to leave again tomorrow. They said they're going to take us to New York to visit our friends in three days. Today Hayes and his family are coming over.

I decided to wear a dark beige sweater, jeans, brown combat boots, and a white infinity scarf. I straightened my hair and added light makeup. Then I needed to go scope out Brooke's room incase there is any evidence, so we don't have another accident like a few days ago.

Her room was clean of any evidence, and as soon as we went downstairs the Grier's were entering our house. I gave Hayes a hug and Brooke did the same to nash.

I led him upstairs to my room and Brooke and nash followed. In my room, Hayes sat on my bed and I sat at my desk.

"So what where you and Brooke talking about the other day?" Hayes asked.
"What were we talking about?" I asked. Brooke and I have talked a lot in the past 4 days.
"Something about burning pictures" he said playing with his hands. My body froze. He heard that conversation?

"Oh uh we wanted to burn these pictures from this party last year because we were in them and my parents were uh getting suspicious" I lied. Some of it was true. We were going to burn pictures, we were at a party. But it wasn't last year.
"Are you sure? Because if it's not you can tell me" he said standing up. I stood up so I was facing him.
"I'm sure" I said and gave him an assuring smile. I kissed his cheek and we both sat on my bed.
