Few good reminders of home

Two days later a container ship was passing by to the fort and it came in to drop off something. It dropped off six crates and left. It was cleared and left the fort. Pure came out and there was a note on one of the crates. It read "Here is something to show our thanks. Oh, and make sure you open the crates at the top not the doors." Pure opened the crates at the top and he knew what came for him. Pure used his tails to bring them inside. He calls everyone to the cafeteria and they come.

Pure: Hey everyone, looks like we got something worth enjoying.

Horatio: What is it, what's in the crates?

Pure opens the crates and they contain Caribbean fruits and delicacies. There were coconuts, young and old, sugar canes, golden apples, mangoes from different islands, a lot of good things were in the crates.

Horatio: A tropical smorgasbord.

Lucinda: Some of these I have only seen in my photos but I always want to ask how they taste.

Pure: Well you will get that chance. Carolina, want to help?

Carolina: Sure.

Pure jumps up and grabs a few sugar cane pieces. Pure rolls them down his tails and Carolina catches them. Pure takes a couple and puts them on the floor. Pure goes into his bag in which he repaired the straps and gave Carolina her knife. Auriella was in Alisha's tails taking a nap with Pure Jr. Carolina takes her knife sits down and starts carving the sugar cane, Pure were doing the same thing too.

Jack: How do you know how do to do that?

Pure: When you live in the Caribbean you learn a couple of things.

Xiao: like carving.

Lucinda: What do you make from this sugar cane?

Pure: Well the name gives it away.

Artemis: So that makes sugar?

Carolina: Yup.

Seth: Shouldn't you process that first.

Pure: Then you would miss out on some of the health benefits of sugar cane, it gives essential vitamins and nutrients.

Carolina finishes carving the sugar cane, breaks one off and hands it to Alisha.

Alisha: So how do you eat it?

Pure: You don't eat it per se; you bite on it and start sucking out the juices from it.

Carolina: Like this.

Carolina splits it up into four, puts one in her mouth and bites down and starts to suck on it.

Carolina: Mmm, looks like they had a good haul this year.

Alisha takes a turn and she bites down and starts to suck it too. She likes the taste coming from it.

Alisha: This is not as sweet as I thought it would be.

Pure: Horatio, want to carve some?

Horatio: Sure.

Pure throws over the sugar cane he was carving and grabs a couple of coconuts. He comes down and places them down.

Xiao: Why did they pack these old ones with the husk coming off?

Pure: Because...

Pure rips off the husk with his bare hands and catches something familiar to everyone.

Xiao: It's holding a coconut?

Zhēnbǎo: Then why is this one so young?

Pure: Because this has coconut water in it and it is very nutritious and useful.
