Giving Thanks

It was thanksgiving at the fort and everyone was getting ready. Pure and Alisha were in the kitchen doing the cooking. Carolina was doing some checkups in her kingdom and she would only be gone for 30 minutes. Horatio and Jack were preparing the tables and utilities. Xiao, Zhēnbǎo and Daiyu were checking up on the diseased dozen and what they like. The monster girls were doing their hobbies and the AI teams were finishing up their reports about what they have found.

Pure: Ok the turkey and pumpkin pie is in the oven. The rice, macaroni pie, and cream potatoes are almost done.

Alisha: The gravy, sides, and salads are ready too.

Pure: The dishes for the diseased dozen are ready and they will join us on video chat.

A portal shows up and Carolina comes through.

Carolina: the kingdom is fine and they are grateful for the free meals they got.

Pure: As long as we got the info out of them, I didn't mind.

Carolina: So we got everything ready for thanksgiving?

Pure: everyone is helping with preparing for thanksgiving.

Seth: What is this holiday about this time?

Pure: Being grateful for something like for getting a body back.

Alisha: Or being able to come home.

Seth: Sounds like a good holiday.

Alisha: It is.

Pure: Ok everything is almost ready. I'm going to check on everyone.

Alisha: Ok.

Carolina: need some help with that?

Alisha: Sure.

Pure: You coming Chun?

Chun nods yes after getting some of the extras from the kitchen. Ming was with the twins and keeping them company. Pure rests his hand in Chun's fur and walks with him. They meet up with Horatio and Jack with some of the troops setting things up.

Pure: Hey guys.

Horatio: Hey.

Jack: Things are almost set up here.

Pure: The food is almost ready; I'm just checking up on how things are here.

Jack: We got the tables ready and waiting on you guys.

Pure: Ok let me check on the others.

Pure heads to the lab where Xiao, Zhēnbǎo and Daiyu were along with Ming.

Pure: Hey guys, how are things in here?

Xiao: Just finishing up the report. It seems your blood can work for some of the diseased dozen but they would need a more direct method.

Pure: How long are we talking.

Daiyu: Few months, give or take if the Nanites can help.

Pure: Keep me posted. Dinner will be ready soon so finish up.

Xiao: We will.

Pure leaves the lab and heads to where the monster girls sleep. He found all four of them going over the idea for Alisha's tattoo on her back.

Pure: Hey girls. How is everything going in here?

Lucinda: Great, we are currently designing the tattoo for Alisha.

Sandra: Do you want one?

Pure: Oh no, I got enough tattoos to last a lifetime.

Arachnid: Fine by you.

Pure: Anyway, food will be almost ready.

Artemis: Ok, we will finish up here.

Pure finds Rick and Marshal and asks them about security.

Pure: Hey guys, how are the defenses holding up?

Rick: Drones are holding up in this weather and running patrols.

Pure: Any intruders?

Marshal: None so far and we just did a check on the firewalls, some small time crooks were trying to get in but we contacted the authorities closest to them when we spiked them for their location.

Pure: Good. Food will soon be ready.

Rick: Good, because I can smell it from here.

Pure: Must be the Alisha's Pumpkin pie, it smells good though. I'm going to check up on the AI teams and let them know.

Rick: Ok later.

Pure heads down to the labs where the Ai teams were just wrapping up their reports.

Randal: Ok, that's done.

Pure: Hey guys, finished up those reports?

Vincent: Yup, there is a lot to go through though.

Pure: Well we got the time, when it gets December things will slow down and people will want to go back home.

Randal: This means a lot of time to catch a break.

Pure: Food will be ready soon.

Vincent: Can we even eat?

Pure: Don't worry. We got things prepared for you guys.

Seth: What, you didn't think the AI dimension just runs on fuel right?

Randal: Please tell me you got some meat for me on standby?

Pure: Always do.

Randal: Thank you.

Pure: well what are waiting for? Let's go.

Everyone met up in the cafeteria and Pure went back in the kitchen to check on things. Once the food was ready Pure, Alisha, Carolina and the chef s that were there brought out the food and placed them on the tables. When the food was placed out Pure had a few words to say.

Pure: Ok everyone, I know everyone wants to get something to eat but we all have something to be thankful for so in one sentence what is everyone grateful for?

Worker: To work here.

Solider: To have a good job.

Researcher: To find the future.

Pure: Guys.

Rick: To be here.

Marshal: To be still alive.

Trinity: To have a good team.

Jade: To be free from my prison.

Vincent: To be here with my girlfriend.

Seth: To have something new in my life.

Mima: To be helpful to everyone.

Randal: To have a new family.

Xiao: To be together again with my mother.

Daiyu: To have my children.

Artemis: To be able to fly again.

Arachnid: To be able to explore.

Sandra: To have room to move.

Lucinda: To have freedom to do what I want.

Carolina: To find the one I love.

Alisha: To be able to fight again.

Pure: To have a family that understands me and one that I am never letting go.

Everyone applauds.

Pure: Now everyone, let's dig in.

Everyone dug into what they had for their food and they all had a good time, they talked about a lot of things and what they were also thankful for. Once they had their fill everyone just relaxed and Lucinda took photos from a drone she uses to get good photos. After everyone was ok they went outside and had a good time on the ice when Horatio froze it over. Everyone enjoyed themselves by skiing, hockey, snowball fights, snowman building and enjoying a hot cup of hot chocolate. When night fell everyone went to bed being thankful for what they have done.
