I woke up an hour later to the feels of fingertips stroking along the top of my head. I was comfy and relaxed, so I didn't really feel like waking up right now. My head remained laid on the warmth of a chest, a heart beat gently beating against the side of my face. Someone's hair lightly tickled my cheek, making my nose crinkle as I shook it away. The sound of quiet voices could be heard.

A female voice; my mother's voice. Then a deeper, more masculine voice; my father's voice. They were speaking amongst themselves about normal things: Lucas, work and other casual things.

I cuddled myself closer into my mom, feeling part of my face being hidden away by her black hair. She tightens her grip on my back for a moment as I move, before the feel of her slightly moist lips come into contact with my cheek.

"Mom," I mumble into her hair, feeling a burning in my stomach. Perhaps the painkillers were wearing off.

"Yeah babe?" She asks softly, continuing to stroke down the side of my cheek with her fingertips.

"I'm in pain," I say through gritted teeth as I crease my eyebrows.

Another hand rests on my back, "I'll go get the nurse," my dad speaks.

Footsteps along the floor indicate that my dad has left to get someone who can help me, so for the next couple of minutes I'm just going to have to bare it. I grab a fist full of my mum's shirt in one hand, and just lie there quietly.

"It's going to be okay baby," my mom coos.

It doesn't take long for my dad to return with the nurse. My eyes don't open much as I'm too tired to sit up and explain where it hurts, but I think she knew anyway. After a bit of prodding, poking and an injection in my hand, I was ushered back off to sleep my the nurse. Apparently I had been on death's door 24 hours ago, so I needed all the rest I could get in order for me to recover properly.

Before long, I was once again away into a deep, peaceful sleep. A sleep with dreams of cotton candy clouds.

I lift open one eye, only to be blinded by the sun that poured in through the window. I loved how the weather had changed and turned so beautiful. The LA sky was clear, not a cloud or drop of rain in sight. I pondered how long it would be until I was out there.

I let out a soft, quiet yawn, then opening my second eye to be met by Louis' smiling face.

I'm shocked to see him at first, but I just smile back at him.

"You're back," I say, my voice raspy and quiet.

Lou shakes his head, "I never left."

I attempt to prop myself up slightly so that I'm in a more comfortable position. My back rests carefully against the pillow now behind me. I look up and him and raise one eyebrow, realizing my mom's absence.

"She made you come and sit with me whilst she went home to shower, didn't she?" I laugh.

He just rolls his eyes and sits back in his seat, "yeah, well, she didn't ask. I offered."

"You seem to have made quite an impression on her."

Louis looks at me with a smirk present on his lips. He just shrugs.

"Well, what can I say? She just knows how great I am."

I scratch the tickle on my nose as I laugh, finding his cockiness quite humourous.
