It was well past midnight, the Moon illuminated the night sky and yet there was no sign of my uncle. What did he need to do? Was he out drinking? I tapped my finger on the table, staring at the door. My mind imagined the worst as I felt time slow down, He can handle himself, I'm sure he stopped by a pub. I glanced over at the window, the moonlight peering in made me feel uneasy, I had finished all my chores for the day and had nothing to help distract me.

It wasn't unusual for my uncle to return late but he would always give me a warning beforehand, He was quite strong and if he got into trouble he would surely find a way out but I couldn't calm my nerves as I waited. I let out a groan getting up to get my cloak, adjusting the hood to cover my hair before heading out. I would just walk around and make sure there was nothing wrong, if everything was good I would return home. The dirt road leading to town always made such a crisp sound, it was calming and made me enjoy my walks, but not even that was helping me feel any better.

The gleaming lights of the town were slightly blinding, I held the tip of my hood as I stepped into the now stone roads. It was quiet, and yet much livelier than normal nights. I walked around, keeping my head low but my senses high. The port city of the kingdom was always met with new people, every night and day the roads would be full and the people would be out. That was what I enjoyed most about this place, though it wasn't like the capital it was still nice.

I glanced over at the pub, it was one of the big pubs the port had. I walked over, peeking in and glancing around at the people, but none resembled my uncle. I groaned stepping out as I glanced around, if he wasn't here then where could he be? I walked over to the side of the pub, perhaps he fell drunk in the alleyway? But even then the only people there didn't look like him. Should I ask around? I sighed, continuing to walk around,

"Oh Goddess of the sea, what must I do to make your heart mine?" I turned the corner, walking over to where the voice was coming from.

Curiosity distracted my mind as I stopped by a small crowd of children and parents all huddled around a small stage with puppets. The puppeteer held a puppet dressed in royal attire with a crown, turning it to the crowd as he narrated.

"As the king asked her this, the goddess smiled her beautiful blue hair that resembled the blue hue of the sea wrapped around her adorned with pearls, her hand reaching out to the king before she spoke, 'No jewel on this earth can express how much your love means to me, but our love is not to be' Her voice was as soft and calm as the waves and her beauty radiated brighter than the sun." The puppet which was the goddess of the sea, was supposed to represent the Queen, it was obvious.

She was thought to be the descendant of the goddess of the sea because of her blue hair, and the King in the story was the current King of this land. This was an act of their love story depicted in a fictional setting, I stared at the puppets. Unable to pull away from the story as I continued to listen to it.

"Despite the Goddess's words, the King continued trying, gifting her every flower on earth until one day he grew unable to be apart from her. 'My goddess, For your love I will leave the throne!' The goddess gasped shaking her head as she continued to hear the King's pleas. His words finally reached her and she too became unable to spend another day without him. 'My king, you shall create a kingdom as benevolent and beautiful as you,' The king shook his head, reaching for her hands as he knelt before her. 'Only if you swear to stand by my side, only then will I be complete' The goddess cried out at his words, both finally coming together to create the kingdom that resembled its king." The puppeteer pulled out another puppet of the goddess now dressed in royal attire matching the king before making the puppet's bow.
