chapter 2

"Raja , Raja , Raja! where are you ?" searched 5 year old Anjali

They were playing hide and seek and Raja was hiding behind a big tree , trying to control his laughter, as he saw his Rani searching for him everywhere

she was looking very cute with her two plats and frock and a cute pout on her face as she could not find him

"Raja please come out!" said anjali in exasperation

finally she sat down on the ground and started crying loudly , hearing her cries , Raja immediately came out from behind the tree and went near her

and sat beside her on his knees

"dont cry my Rani !" he said gently, while lifting her face to wipe her tears, but instead of tears there was a mischievous smile on her face

"got you Raja!" Anjali said and started dancing all around him

Raja also smiled looking at her antics

"Why don't you play with me also Anjali!" said a small boy , who was studying with Anjali only , and was her classmate

They all were playing in the colony park , and this boy had just moved in

"okay Lucky " said Anjali innocently

Rajendra caught her hand when she was about to follow Lucky a.k.a Laxman

"Rani you just play with me ! don't go with him!" said Rajendra angrily

"but he is new Raja and my friend in School, i should be nice na with him!" said Anjali innocently

"Fine go with him , then don't come to me again!"  said 10 year old Rajendra angrily  , then he stomped off from there 

after few minutes he felt a small hand on his shoulder , while he was sitting on a bench alone

"Raja he is new"  said Anjali trying to convince him

But stubborn Rajendra refused to look at her

"Raja I am sorry!" said Anjali on the verge of crying , when Rajendra refused to acknowledge her

"Just go Anjali!" Raja shouted at her

Rajendra was angry as His Rani left him to play with another boy ! His Rani was his , his wish , his blessing!

"please Raja!" said Anjali again

"Go ! " Shouted Rajendra again

and Anjali burst out crying

"I wont be fooled Again Anjali!" said Rajendra arrogantly

But then he heard her quite  sobs  and when he turned he saw fat tears running down Anjali's cheeks , and he immediately melted

he went towards her and hugged her tightly
"Dont be angry on me Raja" said Anjali cutely

while he just rubbed her back to calm her down

"You will play only with me Rani, okay?! or I'll get angry and won't talk to you ever" demanded Rajendra

"okay but you scold me too much Raja !" said Anjali cutely while pointing at Rajendra  , and Rajendra just grinned hearing this

"okay I'll not scold you from now , much!" and Rajendra started running while Anjali chased him

Raja and Rani didn't need anyone else , they were very happy with each other

and this scared their parents , they were happy that their children got along , but they both had no other friends!

Padmini and Rohit wanted Raja to go to a city to get a good education and degree , they had big dreams for him , in their small town that was not possible

Raja was reluctant to go , as he had to leave his Rani for 1 year before summer holidays , and with that Lucky , who according to him always roamed around his Rani!

but after a lot of fights , with his parents he agreed now the only problem was to convince his Rani

He went to their favourite place near the small pond in their colony park and sat beside her

"you leaving me Raja!" said Anjali crying after she sensed him beside her

"who will make my hair? who will play with me?" said Anjali crying

"Lucky doesn't know how to tie hair" said Anjali again

"Only i will tie your hair Rani , when i am not around Rekha aunty can do it! but not that lucky! and I'll come back very soon! in holidays we will again play na!" said Rajendra trying to convince her

They both just sat near the pond , Anjali's small head resting on Rajendra's shoulder watching the pond , both were sad but they knew the had to listen to their parent
