Summer Fling

His breath was hot against my cheek as our bodies pressed together. His hands ran down my dress and onto my waist. I looked at his ocean blue eyes- the silence seemed so perfect. "Summers over." I whispered. He bit his lip. "Yeah I know." He said. I swallowed the tears.

This summer had been insane- Jake had moved here a month before Summer and started at our school. We properly met at the 'End of School' party that Anthony throws every year. We instantly clicked and we've been near enough inseparable since.

"What does that mean?" I asked, wrapping my arms around his neck- he leant against the wardrobe. "I'm not sure. We did say..." He trailed off as I felt my eyes fill with tears again. I just hugged him tightly and squeezed my eyes shut- praying that tears wouldn't fall.

When I got home, I felt so weird about everything. I had definitely fallen for Jake over the summer and I felt like we had something special. But, when we started talking at the beginning of Summer and things got hot quickly that we only wanted a summer fling. I was 100% regretting that now.

The next day at school, my stomach was in knots. I had no idea what was going on with Jake and I. Everyone sort of knew what was happening, but I'd barley seen my friends. I'd spent all my time with Jake and now it seems like it was for nothing.

"So what did he say?" Erika asked, as we sat down for lunch. I put my handbag down and adjusted my jumper. I picked at the rips in my jeans. "We didn't really speak about it, very briefly and loosely. He did text me goodnight last night, but I don't know what it means." I saw him walk in with Chance and Anthony. I felt a rush of sadness over me. "Hey, why don't you just go talk to him?" Rocky suggested. "I don't know what to say- this just all seems way too much to put on him. I don't think he feels the same way." My throat became dry as the boys turned towards us, they came over. "Hey Guys!" Chance said attempting to break the ice. He sat down next to Alex, kissing her as he swung his legs under the table. Anthony stood behind Rocky and played with her hair. My eyes met Jake's and I quickly looked away. "Bike sheds?" Rocky suggested, putting her stuff back into her bag. I flashed her a 'Thankyou for saving my awkward ass' smile and put my bag on my shoulder. Jake was walking behind me.

"Y/N." The way he said my voice made me weak at the knees and my heart thump faster by the split second. "Hey." I said, I stopped and he jogged to catch up. He was wearing a Nike jumper, ripped jeans and his Yeezys. His hair was messy, but his eyes were bright and excited. "What's up?" I asked as we started to walk behind the others. He grabbed my hand. I looked down at it. "We need to talk- this summer has been incredible. I really don't want it to end, I think we have something more special than a fling." He said quietly, his thumb stroked my hand. "I thought...I thought we agreed no strings attached. We wanted a fun summer and that's what we got right?" I asked, he was still holding my hand- the others were waiting a couple paces away from us. "My summer was the best I've ever had Y/N- you're the best I've ever had." He said, he pulled me close to him. "Be my girlfriend?" He asked cheekily. "Yes!" I squealed, we kissed and everyone started clapping. His arms wrapped around me and I felt warm inside. "You're beautiful and I'm so in love with you." He said. "You're amazing Jake and I'm so in love with you too." I replied, he kissed my lips softly. It left them tingling as he pulled away.
