The silence was tearing me apart. "I made a mistake, a huge, life changing mistake..." He started, his palms rubbed together. I couldn't speak, my mouth was bone dry. "I let myself slip so far away from you that it physically pains me when you stand in front of me." He said, he stood up- his arms wrapped around me. "I love you, I love you and I need to be with you." His breath was hot on my cheek. "I love you too Jake." He leant forward and our lips collided.

**4 years later**

"Please just stop crying." I said my eyes full of tears. I rocked her back and forth, her screams were piercing through me. A sleepy Jake took her out of my arms, he yawned and she curled up in his arms. Finally, silence. He passed her back to me and she looked up at me. I kissed her forehead lightly. "Hey baby, did you tire yourself out?" I whispered. Jake wrapped his arms around my waist and put his head on my shoulder and talked to our baby girl. She fell back to sleep, so I put her down in her cot. I grabbed the baby monitor and we went back to our room. I flopped onto the bed. "Who knows an eight month old that screams for that long." I sighed. "Hey it's okay." He pulled me down next to him. I curled up next to him.

"Did you know today marks 4 years since we started fresh?" He whispered, kissing my head. "Wow. It's flown by." I yawned. My eyelids became heavy. "I love you babe." He whispered. "I love you too."
