I walked down the hallways with Erika. Since Jake and I broke up, the two of us drifted from Jake. We're still friends with Rocky, Anthony, Kade, Justin & Nathan, but Erika & I tend to hang out with each other a lot more now.

"Hey Rick, Y/N!" Anthony called, summoning us over. Erika looked at me, Jake's eyes were fixed on the ground. "Come on." She mumbled, she held my hand and dragged me over. "We were all going to go to the beach tonight, do you two wanna come?" He asked. Erika nodded. "Yeah we do." I hit her discreetly as we walked away. "You can't let Jake control your life forever." She sighed.

We went back to mine after to school to get ready. I was wearing a play suit and my Converse. We both had pretty glam makeup and my hair was in curls. We were gonna have a bonfire and BBQ and just chill together something we hadn't done in forever. When Erika and I arrived, everybody was already there. I laid out our blanket and we sat down. We all ate, laughed and played around. Everyone except me decided to go into the water, I was looking around when I realised Jake hadn't either. It was like a knife through my heart just sat here with him alone. The silence was tense and upsetting.

"Sometimes I wish I couldn't remember the sound of your voice..." I said looking up at the stars. "Please don't-...." He began. I didn't let him finish. "Because it's engraved in my heart. And I when I get a good grade on a test, I hear you telling me how you proud you are. And when I have a bad day, I hear you telling me you love me. And when I miss you the most, I can hear you saying it back." I looked at him, he had tears in his eyes. "I'm sorry." He mumbled. "Yeah." I said looking at his broken eyes. "I hear that sometimes too." We went back to silence and it actually felt refreshing to speak to him and for him to know I do still care and that he's still such a huge part of my life.
