Stereotypical

Jake and I are the stereotypical couple. He's the jock and I'm the cheerleader. It's kind of a classic love story. High school sweethearts- we've been together for 2 years now and Prom's coming up. I can't wait to spend one of the most anticipated nights with the boy I hope to one day marry.

We walked into school- Chance and Anthony were a little ahead. "So, I'll meet you at the presentation practice?" He asked. I pouted. "That's 2 hours away." I laughed. He kissed me gently on the lips. "1 hour, 59 minutes and 45 seconds..." He said pretending to look at an invisible watch on his wrist. "Okay, don't get any more detentions." He said. "I won't if you won't?" We pinky promises and he kissed me again. "I love you, see you in a bit." He said. I waved. "I love you too." I walked into my lesson.

Two hours passed pretty quick and we were rehearsing the team presentation. The whole schools watching it this afternoon- it's a show of this years players and they all have a cheerleader escort.

I got changed and did my hair to match the other girls- a sleek high ponytail with a bow that matches our outfits. I topped up my makeup and we waited. I was first with Jake. Everyone was queuing up, to enter the basketball sidelines. We were watching through the crack in the door. "I'm kinda nervous." I said to Jake, he pulled me into a tight, side hug. "You'll smash it. Of course I'll be looking hot and smooth anyway." He teased. I hit his arm lightly.

The music started and I warmed up, the doors opened and Jake walked. I did my cartwheel, backflip and aerial. Everyone cheered and we stood to the side. Next was Anthony and one of my friends Tinisha. Then, Chance and his (now) ex-girlfriend Lottie. I saw tears fill her eyes as she performed. He tried to hold her hand, but she pulled back like he was fire.

Everyone piled back into the changing rooms. I got back into my leggings and Jake's hoodie. I hugged Lottie. "You were so brave. This is the first step to getting over him." I said holding her hands. For the first time in what felt like forever, one of my closest friends smiled. "Yeah." She nodded. I hugged her tightly again and fixed my hair. I left it how it was- it's what we do if we have practice during the school day, because it's too much of a ball ache to re do it all. I waited for Jake outside the gym. He came out and I slipped my hand into his. "You did amazing and you looked gorgeous." He beamed as we walked to our lockers. I put my code in and it popped open. It had a mirror, and then the rest was plastered in pictures of Jake, and Jake and I together. He looked at me in the mirror as I put my cheer bag in. "What?" I laughed. "I love you." He said emotionally. I closed the door. "Awe Jakey, I love you too." I wiped his eyes and kissed him. "Mr.Paul, Miss Y/LN my office." The headteacher snapped.

We sat down in front of him. "This is our 6th conversation this week about PDA in the hallway. We have established holding hands and hugging is plenty. I really don't believe making out is beneficial to any students or staff." He said raising an eyebrow. I sighed. "I kissed him, we weren't making out..." Well maybe I lied a little. "Once more and that's your last strike, you'll be banned from each other." He snapped.

We left his office in hysterics. "I can't wait till we're out of this hell hole. I can make it with you all day everyday." Jake said picking me up. I squealed as everyone poured out the doors for the end of school. He put me down outside. "One day." I smiled.
