Jake:

Time stood still. It felt like the world around me had frozen. My name was being repeatedly called, but I couldn't answer. They were giving us the chance to say goodbye, but goodbye means I won't ever see her again. And I'm not sure if I'm ready to do that, to admit my wife is laying in a hospital bed- 4 days after we got married....dead.

Erika:

Losing Y/N had been like a bulldozer through Jake's heart. He was spiralling into a dark depression, he was shut in his room and only left to get more alcohol. I think he wanted to escape- getting drunk and then falling asleep. Never, ever leaving his room seemed perfect to him right now.

"Hey, is someone gonna check on him?" I asked- the silence in the Team 10 house for the last 2 weeks has been heartbreaking. No one knew what to say, what to do, how to act...everything just seemed like it had happened in a flash. She was here- ready to leave on her belated honeymoon, which they pushed back to do charity work. She had given up herself for everybody else.

"I don't know what we can do, we are all heartbroken that Y/N's gone..., but sometimes we have to be strong." Nick started. "And Jake isn't ready to be strong yet, because there's no-one to be strong for." He continued. I stretched my hand out to Nick as he started to cry. We all had a group hug. "We've got to be strong for Jake, strong for Y/N." Chance whispered, we all leant in- our heads resting against each other. "Because we're a Team." Rocky said tearfully. "Team 10." We all whispered. We stood up. "Lets invite Jake to do the lanterns with us." Chance said.

We all walked up to his room and I knocked on the door. "Jake?" I called, I pushed open the door and the curtains were open. It didn't smell like alcohol and he'd made the bed. Her stuff had been tidied away. We all walked in. He held her necklace in his hand. "I'm being strong, because it's what she would've said." He said. Everyone walked up to the floor to ceiling window. He unclipped the necklace- it was her initial- something Jake gave her when they first started dating. He clipped it around his neck, he kissed it. "I want to come and set off the lanterns with you." He said, there was a small, sad spark in his eyes, but still a spark. Everyone gathered around. "Team 10." Everyone said. "Team 10." Jake said, a small smile curled up on his lips.

Jake:

"I'll be down in two seconds." I said to everyone, they ran downstairs and Erika shut the door. I stood by the window again. I lifted the necklace up and held her initial in her hand. "Hey baby, make sure you're watching. We're all about to set off the lanterns for you. I miss and love you gorgeous." I kissed it and let it drop back down on my chest. I grabbed my coat and phone. I shut the bedroom door and went downstairs.
