"You don't enjoy mochi, Sasuke?"

As [Name] and the Uchiha continued their stroll through the steadily silencing village streets, she raised an eyebrow as he declined her offer of mochi.

"I... don't particularly enjoy sweet food," he explained, causing [Name] to facepalm.

"Why didn't you tell me, silly! We could've gotten something the both of us could eat!" she exclaimed indignantly, causing Sasuke to chuckle.

"It's fine. I wasn't that hungry- I was just trying to give our walk a purpose."

"Well, it worked."

The pair began walking back the way they came, noticing how darkness was rapidly falling.

"I hope your parents don't mind that I've kept you out for this late," said Sasuke in an apologetic tone, which [Name] waved away. "I just find the more time we spend together, the easier it is for me to wrap my head around having to spend the rest of my life with you. Not that it's necessarily a bad thing."

"Likewise! I'm sure they won't mind," smiled [Name], letting her hair fall over her shoulders. "My mother seems to like you. Mai thinks you're good looking. As for my father... well, I guess I'll find out what he thinks tonight. He only just came back from an envoy trip to another clan, so I haven't had much chance to talk to him."

"She does, does she?" mused Sasuke, raising an eyebrow at Mai's comment. "And what about you? Do you think I'm good looking?"

"Of course," replied [Name] bluntly, not seeing what there was to lie about. "But I have seen other good looking men in my life, so you're nothing special."

"I'm not going to lie, that kind of hurt."

"What's special about you is that you get to marry... me!" [Name] cheered and threw her arms into the air, which resulted in her unceremoniously dropping a piece of mochi onto her shoulder, leaving a mark on her lavish kimono.

"OH NO!"

Before [Name] could rush to try and remove the mochi before it ended up leaving an unpleasant stain, the Uchiha had already grabbed her other shoulder to keep her still, and wiped off the offending food with the sleeve of his haori.

"Sasuke, now your haori's going to be messy as well!" retorted [Name], to which the Uchiha rolled his eyes.

"It's Madara's. I don't care."

His little remark made [Name] laugh loudly, and silently, the Uchiha commended himself for the progress he was making. True, the only thing he felt comfortable talking to [Name] about these days was about how much disdain he had for Madara, but even that was a good start considering how badly he had been around her previously.

"You know, I don't think I mind having to live with you for the rest of my life," laughed [Name], wiping a stray tear from her eye. "But I do wonder- will I get my own room?"

Sasuke inhaled deeply, wondering whether the news he was about to tell her could be considered good or bad.

"Well... how do I say this..."

[Name] stopped in her tracks, curious as to why the Uchiha was hesitating.

"The thing is, since you're my primary wife, people would expect us to share..."

"Ah. I see."

"... but I personally wouldn't mind you having your own room. The thing is, not too long after this, Madara plans on me getting a second wife..."

"Oh?" Now that was something that hadn't been mentioned before.

"Dependent on how many concubines the bastard wants me to get, there might actually not be enough room for you to have your own," concluded Sasuke, making [Name] "ohhh..." in realisation.
