A week leading on from the baby's birth, Sasuke had finally decided on his daughter's name.

Uchiha Sarada.

From what they had seen so far, she had inherited both her father's dark hair and eyes, and resembled him so greatly even he was surprised.

"Sakura? Sakura, she needs a feed. Come on, sweetie."

[Name] gently tapped Sakura awake as she picked up Sarada from the futon beside her mother's, having been carefully timing whenever the little girl was due a feeding. Ever since Sarada's birth, [Name] had been in the room with the baby girl and her mother, keeping a careful eye on both of them to ensure that Sakura woke up between her naps to feed Sarada, and that Sarada's nappy would be changed whenever it needed changing while Sakura slept. A little over a week had passed since [Name] had taken on the responsibility of looking after both Sarada and Sakura, and it was beginning to take its toll on her health.

With a tired groan, Sakura sat up and undid one side of her yukata, exposing her engorged breast as she prepared herself for her daughter to eat.

"[Name], I'm tired," cried the Haruno as [Name] placed the child in her arms, nudging for Sakura to get her to latch on.

"I know, Sakura, but you'll get through it," said [Name] encouragingly, who was just as lethargic as Sakura was. But since she wasn't the one who was dealing with the after effects of giving birth, she cut the Haruno much more slack than she did herself.

Since Sarada's birth, Sasuke had been as helpful as he could during the day, helping Sakura with Sarada, as well as preparing their meals. This left the night shift up to [Name], which, on top of her already grueling schedule, just made her even more exhausted.

In hindsight, she wasn't sure why she was overextending herself like this... but then she remembered the type of person Sasuke was, and how inexperienced Sakura was when it came to nursing a child. Not to mention how hard it was for the two of them to remain in the same room alone during the day, let alone at night time. At least during the day, all Sasuke had to do was come home from his lesson to cook dinner- during the mornings, the midwife would be in, checking up on Sakura and Sarada to make sure everything was in order.

"Why does she have to eat so much?" whined the pinkette as she guided Sarada's mouth to her nipple, having learned from the midwives the correct way to feed her. Although the midwives had said that the family could call on them whenever they needed their help, a hardheaded [Name] had insisted that they would be fine for the time being.

"She has to eat at every three hours, or something like that," sighed [Name], lying down on the futon next to Sakura's. "You're the only one who can feed her."

"When will we be able to get a decent night of rest?"

"Well, if we started alternating nights with her... I'd say a few months."

"Months?!"

[Name] sighed upon seeing the exasperated look on Sakura's face, unsure of what the Haruno had expected from having a child.

"Sakura, weren't you a medical nin before this?" asked [Name] weakly, unsure of how Sakura's previous profession hadn't allowed her any exposure to the workings of motherhood.

"I only dealt with injuries from the battlefields- I've never had to deal with a child in my life," admitted the Haruno meekishly, feeling insufficient compared to [Name] and her vast experiences.

"I see," said [Name] softly, staring up at the ceiling. "That's okay. Everyone's a first time mother when their first child is born... uh... I think..."
