Chapter 11.2 - Delaiz City

I still can't imagine how large the city is, it is comparable to a big town back on Earth. We spent a week doing nothing, but within those days I was able to upgrade my Explorer job to even accept Adventurer's jobs and I can even accept Mercenary quests. I was also able to make our "uniform", with the help of the local tailor. The uniform is loosely based on a World War two design, with extra pockets to accomodate clips of .303 rounds and .45 magazines, the design also incorpate my knowledge to increase mobility and added parts to support our armor plates . Along with it are magic bags that can store more than regular ones, of course this comes in a hefty price.

The whole week was not really spent for nonsense. Liana was able to contact his father's old friends so we can have merchant allies to guide us around. Liana mostly relied on his late father on the business side of trading thus she have limited experience except haggling. Serefina was able to reunite for a short time with her friends. We also spent a day for our date. I let them buy what dresses, accessories and other apparels they wanted, wearing "uniforms" all the time isn't realky comfortable. So I also spent some luxury items, bought some clothes for formal and informal settings. I also bought a larger wagon made of wood, that I modified a lot, that you can see it from the outside. It is designed to accomodate up to 6 people and some cargo behind. I also made the seats convertible to a bed, so at least 3-4 persons could sleep inside in a bunk bed style. I also put some sort of suspensions to easen the ride, and of course wyvern scales as armor.

I was also able to put a 4x adjustable scope at Serefina's Lee Enfield No.4, I modified it through magic from a telescope I bought at the market, and all of us have bayonets that coukd also be a mutipurpose knife. The Thompson SMG I made was at acceptable performance, but of course the rate of fire of it means more bullet consumption, thus I was the only one with it, meanwhile Liana got the shotgun. And all of us have a M1911 in our holster even we are just strolling around the city. And with our spending spree this last days didn't really put a significant dent on our budget.

Thus, Liana suggested that we should accept some quests, quests that will provide some extra money and experience we needed. And of course to make ourselves popular, it will be useful in haggling our prices for our services to clients. We all agreed to it, and decided to make preparations and to decide what quest to take.

We practiced our shots in the outskirts of the city. Serefina's accuracy is greatly improved with the help of the scope, that leads Liana to pout on why did I not gave her such device. To compensate for it, I taught her how to use the Thompson SMG. It's high rate of fire shocks the both of them. They didn't know the true power of the SMG since then, they are also only acquainted to rate of fire of the Lee Enfield and the M1911.

We've spent a lot of rounds. That almost lead me to cry to the amount of bullets I have to make again. But our practice is worth the last bullet, as this migjt be useful to our dangerous jobs me might encounter later on. Also in preparation we bought large amount of healing potions, I didn't hold back and bought only the highest quality in the city. We already heard some gossips of us that we are very rich, in our somehow luxurious lifestyle, some even suggest that I am a son of a noble in the way I act. This might lead to trouble later on as we might become a target for bandits. Thus, we layed low for a while and then quietly accepted the quest from the Guild.

The quest calls for a expeditionary force to defend a village from a huge amount of goblins. Surprisingly no one have accepted the quest, as the pay was too cheap for veteran adveturers and the task is too much for mid and novice adventurers. Thus we decided to accept the quest as the village is near where Wyverns are seen flying around, and I want to take down one.
