Chapter 14.1 - Goblin Attack Part 3

We are truly shocked that there is another wave at the rear, but we can't realky do anything about it. Just in time the village mage finishes his enchanment and deals another explosive spell on the attacking goblins, he set it off at the rear of the second wave. The explosion illuminated the whole area. Giving us the chance to engaged the goblins accurately. The position of the village on top of the hill gave us a great vantage point to shoot down the menacing force of goblins. Then in the midst of our concert like volley of fire large ogre began to appear exiting the the treelines. And as the illumination of the spell dissipitates, the dark clouds began to move away from the shining moon.

And as the light from the moon slowly returned it reveals a large concentration of goblins. The smaller ones are retreating behind the ogres. As if they have human like intelligence. And they slowly form an human army like formation. And suddenly a growly goblin voice emerge from the shadows. The goblin is unmistakably speakimg the language of this land.

Thus the villagers began to conclude and whisper to one another., "The adventurers are right afterall they are led by a Goblin King!".

I was told before that Goblin Kings exists but they are very rare. They are born firsthand with human like characteristics. And with human like characteristics, they also come to have human like ambitions. With their superior intelligence with the rest of their families they are promptly become Kings that led the whole goblin groups. There are Goblin Kings that are friendly to humans, but this King we encountered isn't really that friendly.

"H....hu..mans, I gg..i..ve. you. cha..nnce.... SU .RREN..DER... OR P...ERIS..H.., I on..ly. ..wa..nt..ed.. Th..iss..who..le..mount...ain... Surr..ee.ndder..and... I'll.. Be ...your..KING!!!.

KING!!!!!." ,The Goblin King shouts to our direction.

The whole village replied in unison, "NEVER!". And they all shouts their warcry and the village archers began to lit their arrows with fire and they release and concentrated barrage to the the Goblin army.

Some were able to hit their targets and killing some of the goblins. Setting the plains on fire is impossible as the plains is already burnt to ashes.

With that the goblins attacked simultaneously. We fired rounds after rounds. I took aim through the iron sights, squeezed the trigger, then BANG!, pulled the bolt backwards as it loads another round on the chamber. I will do this for around 10 times then I will reload the rifle with two clips containing five rounds of ammunition. Hoping we can defeat the goblins before we ran out of ammunition. Our training resulted that we can fire almost beyond 20 rounds per minute. But considering there are only three of us against hundreds of goblins. Some don't falter on the first shot especially the ogres. Their big muscular built is tanking the damage dealt by the bullet. .303 British rounds are considerably large but of course the mana crystals we are using to propel the bullet is not the exact equivalent on how a gunpowder would. My current level could only enhance the crystals that far. But of course it's a different story for the 12 gauge and .45ACP bullets.

As we unleashed hell on the oncoming goblins, is wasn't good enough, soon they are already knocking on the makeshift walls. With the ogres have the capacity to tear down the whole wall. Both left and right flank braces fo impact. As the limited hole om the makeshit holes result to limited lances that can poke and stab the enemies. The archers have difficulties killing the ogres. With Serefina at almost point blank range. Can decimate the whole head of an ogre.

But with the pressure from both sides. The whole wooden wall began to creak. Some wood have already broke in half. And our position is blocked by the wall we can only shoot the goblins at the rear.

Then with the pressure yhe right flank wall began to gave way same as the left. A final punch of an dying ogre cracked opens the right wall, gaving way for the smaller goblins to engaged the villagers to close combat. Wherein we are poorly trained except for some. Casualties began to mount, as the healers at the back could only do so much.

We are in a fight, a fight for our lives.
