It had been two weeks since Lily came crashing into my life. And it had been two of the best weeks of my life. I didn't know if it was because of the weather being so nice, work on recording some songs going so well or the fact that Lily seemed to just light up my world. I'd watched her change from this helpless, timid young girl, into a happy, healthier and funny woman. Right before my eyes. Her skin began to glow, her eyes were sparkling. The bruises on her arm, and probably her back too, had almost gone. Was this even the same girl?

'So I have some time off today, fancy going to the park for a bit?' I asked her. She'd chewed through yet another book. She'd gone around the previous day handing out resumes to every single shop, cafe, store, restaurant in London. A resume that we had lied a little bit on. And it was now a case of waiting for phone calls. Which was awkward when we had written my number on them. She had begun the process of signing on for job seekers benefit, but it could take up to eight weeks.

'Yeah!' She jumped up, discarding the book on the sofa and in a flash she had her shoes on and was ready to go.

We strolled through the green and past the wooded area and play park. She chatted constantly. Where it had once been hard to get a word from her, I now found it impossible to get a word in edge ways. It was like she'd had so much to say for so long and now it all came spilling out her mouth.

'Ive always wanted a scooter like that.' She pointed to a Vespa speeding past. 'But, a pink one. Or a Beetle or even a Mini, something little, you know? Just so I can nip to the shop or take a drive down to a beech for a day. But of course, I'd need to learn how to drive and I'm not too sure I'd be very good at it. Or maybe I should go on one of those driver courses. I bet they're really expensive. It'll be fine once I've got a job cos I know rent is expensive, but I'll save whatever I can. Or you could teach me!'

I laughed at her and she looked bemused.

'What?' She asked.

'Nothing.' I grinned.
