'You've got nothing to be nervous about. They'll love you.' I told her as she paced the apartment, waiting to leave for her interview. Her long brown hair was tied into a neat bun and her trouser suit was ironed to perfection. She had applied make up to hide the fading black eyes and looked beautiful, as always.
'But I've got no experience. I couldn't turn on a hoover if I tried!'
'I probably wouldn't mention that.' I laughed. Her worried face broke into a smile. 'Just be happy and friendly and they'll be crazy not to hire you.'
She remained silent the whole car journey in. I knew the feeling all too well when applying for university and then when I was trying to get my record deal. I gave her another pep talk about how she'd walk in there and they'd hire her on the spot, before she got out the car, looking rather pale.
