"Nothing Jake. Your sister was crying from a horrible nightmare, that's all." Colby explained. I smiled under my tears but then covered my face with my palms.

"Rae?" Jake tip toed closer to me. He lifted my face, removing my hands. He saw the stained cheeks from my hot tears, the red puffy eyes, and the emotion that ran through my face.

"What happened?" I slowly turned my head to get his hand off my chin. "Bad nightmare. Thats all." I replied and barried my head into Colby's chest. I embraced Colby in a fast hug by rapping my arms around him. I scrunched my sweatshirt sleeves into my hands.

I could tell the boys were looking at each other in shock of my behavior. Jam is probably thinking that me and Colby love each other and Colby is probably thinking that I'm safe with him, I hope.

"I-" Jake was cut off with a phone call.

"Yea mom?" My head bobbed up. Mom? I thought about the moment I left that house. Is she worried?

"No, no. Rae is having a great time." He smiled into the phone. I couldn't hear the other end because it was muffled by his big head. Just that thought made me laugh.

"What?" Colby asked looking down at me. "I can't hear the convo because of Jake's big head." Then Colby laughed hysterically. I felt my heart thump loud, meaning I'm happy.

Of course I was happy. I'm with the best man ever! How could I not be happy? I'm having the best time of my life. I log my friends back home, but these friends are one of a kind.

"I'm glad I came here." I spoke aloud but not to loud. "Me too." Colby whispered.

"No, mom. Mom. Calm down. Everything is alright. I'm doing ok. Rae is fine. She's with her boyfriend." Jake laughed but then went straight to serious. He doesn't like the thought of me being in a relationship.

"Yea sure." He handed me the phone. I pulled away from Colby and took the phone. It felt pretty heated so his phone was overheating. I didn't care cause it felt nice against my cheeks.

"Hey mom." I smiled and sound as if I was normal, which I feel normal now.

"How are you darling?" She asked with a slight worried sound in her voice.

"Great. I still don't have a boyfriend mom. Jake is joking." I chuckled, looking over at Jake.

"Oh, honey. Your boyfr-"

"I don't like that subject mom." Then there was an awkward silence in the line.

"Mom?" I asked. She took a sudden breath as if she dosed off somewhere.

"I'm here. You LOVE that subject. You love talking about boys." Mom chuckled behind the phone. I didn't. I hate talking about "boys".

"Mom." I sternly scolded into the phone.

"Yes?" She replied in her sweet 40s voice. I smiled but then dropped it, thinking about what I was going to say.

"I'm not the same." I looked over to Jake seeing him with parted lips. He wasn't ready for me explaining that.

"W-what do you mean?" My mom asked with a shaky voice. I could tell she wasn't ready either. I put her on speaker phone and went to messages. I took a picture of my outfit. The boys gave a strange look but I ignored them.

I sent the picture then she gasped. "Are those black clothes?" She gasped again. I completely forgot she was on speaker phone. I turned her right off of speaker phone.

"Yea they are. I don't wear pretty pink anymore, I hate skirts and dresses, I hate makeup." I looked over to Colby and have him a smile.

"Honey. Please. Your joking." I scoffed then just said "goodbye." I handed the phone to Jake. He ran away as I sat and looked down.

"Why did you hang up on her?" He asked. I chuckled. "Oh colby?" I looked up. I tugged him to hug me. He smiled in defeat. He hugged me then pulled away. He looked into my hazel nut green eyes and gazed. I gazed back.

I felt a force slowly bring us closer, and closer and-

"What the hell?!" Corey shouted with Jake. "Oh uh, hey." I said, Colby scratching his neck. "We're weren't doing uh, anything." Colby said. I just shortly place my arm around his neck.

"Get your hand off of him!" Jake ripped my arm away. Then Colby grabbed his shoulder.

"Calm down Jake." Colby looked at me. His dimples went away. I looked at him wanting to hug him, hold him in my arms.

"Jake please, this isn't a big deal." I said he pushed me away from Colby. "Yes! It is a freaking big deal!" He shouted.

"Jake please let her go." Colby begged pulling him away from me. Jake pushed Colby away.

"NO! I'm not having another person hurt her!" He shouted. "JAKE!" I shouted back. A tear ran down my cheek.

"Please." I begged. My arm was being pulled. I couldn't take it. I cried. And I never cry. I stood up backing myself away. Jake let me go.

I ran passed Jake and got to Colby.

"I-i." I couldn't think. All I did was grab his chin and pulled him close. I kissed his cheek. I smiled and ran and ran.

"Rae!" Jake shouted. "RAE!" Colby shouted. I ran to the bronze brown doors. I ripped them open and dashed out. I passed the gates and made it to the bushes right in front of the mansion. I took a breath.

"I love you, Colby."
