Taurus stood outside the inn, eyeing the neon pink sign. It read: Angels Haven. There was nothing angelic about it. It was a big, ugly looking building that looked like it had been neglected for the past hundred years with its worn down brick, and non-existent foundations. The neon light for some of the letters flickered on and off every few seconds, and it was tough to see through the large, stained glass windows, but the ominous atmosphere from within could be felt outside.
Taurus loved the place.
He walked into the inn, and it had as much of a dreary look on the inside. The inn was pretty plain, with few memorabilia on the wall, uncomfortable wooden chairs and table scattered around the place. There was little light, the innkeep was currently killing a spider and the few people in the tavern were people you would have wanted to stay away from. It was currently subdued on the inside, which was a surprise as someone usually was causing some sort of trouble.
Taurus took a seat at the counter, ignoring those who had turned to look at him, holding up a single finger for his usual order. The innkeeper nodded, as he picked up the now dead spider and put it in the bin.
"So, what happened?" He asked, handing Taurus a plate of food and a glass of beer. The innkeeper was called Walder, a middle aged man who was very large and hearty. He was already bald and he seemed pretty intimidating with his gruffness, but his eyes twinkled light blue and he was a good friend of Taurus's.
"What do you think?" Taurus replied. "He's now dead and my debts are cleared... probably."
The innkeeper laughed as Taurus rolled his eyes. It hugely amused the innkeeper about how Taurus always seemed to be in chronic debt.
The metal door swung open and a hooded figure strode in. Long silver hair escaped the front of the hood and Taurus knew who he was looking for. The figure walked over to Taurus, in a manner that seemed like they owned the place and the people in it.
Taurus knew that they probably could, they were that rich.
"Hello, my dear," the figure said seductively, sitting next to him, taking off her hood and smiling at him. Her smile turned into bemusement. "Are you... eating ice cream with chocolate and beer?" She asked with an eyebrow raised. His ice cream was almost like a sundae with the amount he possessed, with chocolate sticks protruding from it and melted chocolate surrounding it. His beer was always mixed with a little wine, that Walder gave on the house since Taurus had helped him with trouble a few years back.
"Yes, it's my weakness," Taurus replied in a bored and gruff voice, continually eating.
"Okay..." she trailed off. So much for her seductive and in control demeanour, Taurus thought. He didn't see what the problem was - he was only eating severely unhealthy food. Who didn't? "You did what was asked?"
"Depends. You bring what I want?" He asked, finishing the last of his beer. "Thanks for the meal. Add it to my tab," he told Walder, who nodded.
"Aye lad, I will," he replied, taking the plate and glass away.
"How much do you owe him?" The girl asked, smiling again. Taurus thought she looked very pretty, but very mysterious; maybe even a little evil. She would have been a good face for Angels Haven - she looked around her early twenties, her skin seemed to glow in the darkness, her complexion perfect, with hair as white as snow and soft, delicate features. However, her eyes ruined the image - they were blood red, as if when they looked at you, they would hunt you down. He saw that some of her clothing - a black collar with a golden outline. He knew it was expensive, yet she wore a shabby hood and cloak.
