The Zodiacs remained at an inn in Zhance, as Leo was in pretty bad condition and didn't want to travel. Malus also promised to come back with the information as soon as all of them were fully recuperated.
As Leo recovered from his injuries, an unexpected but welcomed guest appeared at their inn one sunny morning.
As Taurus entered the main hall, he saw him sat at a table, with a mug of beer already poured.
"Mordecai? What are you doing here?" Taurus asked the veteran demonhunter, as he approached him.
"I knew you were here and you are technically my responsibility," he replied, pouring himself some more beer. "I've also brought some gifts that you and Pisces might like."
Taurus shrugged, but was internally quite excited. A new sword? New armour? Maybe even a new technique since they used the same kind of magic?
He wore a look of a boredom, as Mordecai began leading him outside. "You left these gifts outside, somewhere? Don't tell me I have to help you look for them..." Taurus sighed. The inn was on the outskirts of the city, but there was still a large number of people walking around, with numerous buildings of various purposes were placed all around them.
"No, no, the gifts I've brought have a little penchant for shopping," Mordecai explained, as they headed for the city square.
"You didn't rent us whores did you? I appreciate the gesture but sleeping with women for money isn't my style. And I'm already in enough debt as it is. And don't even get me started on what would happen to Pisces..."
"No, lad, I didn't rent out any woman for you! And do you think I'm an idiot, getting one for Pisces? The boy would be ruined."
"My thoughts exactly!" Taurus nodded. "But do whatever you want, it's not like I give a shit," he assumed his normal laid-back demeanour.
Mordecai scoffed at him, and shook his head. "You don't give a shit about anything, do you?"
"I love fighting. And certain types of food..."
"Don't dare call the crap that you eat 'food.' It's more likely to kill you than any demon!"
"Whatever," Taurus rolled his eyes, not being bothered to argue back about how delicious his ice cream with chocolate and beer was. "We headed for Zhance Square?" Taurus asked, pointing towards where the main area of the city was.
"They'll be around there somewhere," Mordecai nodded. "How're your friends?" He asked, as they began heading in the direction of Zhance Square.
"Most of them are fine. Leo likes to act like he's recovered but it's obvious he's not," Taurus replied. "Pisces is Pisces, though he's taken to Aquarius unnaturally."
"Aquarius? He has a crush on her or something, lad?" Taurus shrugged but Mordecai didn't see it.
"Well, come on, speak up!" He impatiently demanded, turning to look at him. A few people looked over worriedly at him shouting for a few seconds, but continued on with their daily lives.
"Probably not... besides, I don't really care!" Taurus replied, full well knowing Aqua and Gemini were in a relationship and that Pisces was most likely fond of Aqua in a sibling sort of way.
"Keep speaking like that. You'll definitely keep friends that way," Mordecai said, turning back around and continuing to walk.
"Well, where are your friends? I don't see you travelling around with an entourage like I have to," Taurus grumbled. "Do these friends of yours even exist?"
"As much as your fondness for Pisces exists," Mordecai replied.
"But I'm not fond of him!"
"Course not."
