Above is Helia!
They looked around Crow's Hill for about and hour or so, yet found nothing.
Leo sighed. "Where's this demon camp he was telling me about?" He asked to no one in particular as he stood on the summit. He could see for leagues at its summit, yet he had no idea where to even look. The demons could have been anywhere.
"We'll find them. What did the demon say to you exactly?" Helia asked, joining him. They had both looked for any sort of clues that demons had been here, but to no avail.
Had Leo really been led into some sort of trap? Well, if there was a chance to save Lance, it would be worth it. He noticed something when looking over the edge of the sheer drop.
"I can see blood on the ground," he noted. "Can't really tell, but looks like it's still running so it's got to be relatively knew."
"Where?" Helia asked, following his gaze.
"Foot of the cliff. I'll go down to investigate," Leo replied, as Helia finally found what he had been looking at.
"There's also some boulders placed around down there. What would they be doing at the bottom of a cliff, unless they were man or demon made," Helia pointed out. "The demons are somewhere near there."
Leo nodded. He was close to them now, he could feel it. He had a chance to save his friend and rub it in for all eternity!
He headed towards the foot of the cliff, by traversing down the hill and walking all the way around. It took him at least a few minutes and that was plenty of time for adrenaline to begin pumping into his veins.
"If they're down there and lying in wait, I'll wait in the trees and come to aid you. You go in first and draw them out of they're there," Helia said as they walked down the hill.
Leo agreed. It was logical they didn't expect a second demonhunter to be with him. Hopefully, they hadn't seen her when they were scoping the area out.
"Make sure you have my back," he said, before quickening his pace and leaving her behind.
He got to the foot of the cliff, where the ground went from being littered with grass, to now being made of stone. The boulders were pretty big, about the size of Leo's leg in height and the same in width.
He awaited an attack, his hands on the hilt of his swords, but none came out to face him. He sighed in relief - if he could find them he had the element of surprise. He first approached the blood on the floor and checked it out closely.
It was human blood and it was darkened in it's colour. This had been done some time ago, at least a few days ago. The blood was splattered across the floor in a oval shape, meaning someone had bled out and with little flecks of blade protruding from it, be guessed there corpse had been carried by the demons.
Another person he had failed.
He inspected some of the boulders and noticed there wasn't any piece of small stone lying about that would fit into them. The boulders hadn't been thrown about then - they were there for decoration?
Apart from the blood, there was no signs of a battle taking place. Leo guessed some unfortunate fool had located the demon's here and tried to kill them on their lonesome. No doubt they were quickly dispatched. He sighed in sadness. He felt sorry because the person probably had lost someone due to the demon's and wanted vengeance.
Leo would deliver it them.
At the foot of the hill, was a cave and Leo guessed that's where the demon's resided. He didn't know if they were still inside, but none of them had come out and he had been there for a few minutes already.
