DELANO POV
Gia has been distancing herself from me lately. I know why she's doing it but she doesn't have to. Before she started all of this we did agree that I would be throwing Ryan's ninth birthday at my house. Last year he had a party at a fun center but we both wanted to lay low this year.
"Babe how does the decoration look?" Madison asked.
"Looks nice" I said.
"You know just doing all of this makes me excited to have a baby of our own" she said. Here we go again.
"Sure..." that's all I said. I wasn't in the mood to even speak about it. Plus, I was too busy trying to plan a way to get Gia back to where we were. "Sure? What?" She asked.
"Sure means I heard what you said. That's it" I said.
"Oh, thought for a minute there you finally wanted to start having babies with me" she said.
"Madison you're a smart girl. When I say not right now it doesn't mean I might change my mind tomorrow. I'm content with the two I have already. When I want more trust me you'll be the first to know" I said. She didn't like that answer. She got down from the small ladder she was on and walked off. She wouldn't get mad if she just stop asking about it.
People started to show up. My mom was not invited and she knew why as well. My sister wanted to come but I told her to babysit mom so she doesn't show up. Last thing I need. Madison came out with a smile . Looks like she got over what we spoke about before. She locked arms with me as we greeted guest.
Gia walked through the door with Ryan who was excited and Kairo who looked like he was ready to start running around. "Happy Birthday Ryan!" I hugged him. "Thanks dad".
"He's a big boy now. Nine years old. Can't believe I had him nine years ago. Makes me feel old" Gia said.
"Don't worry Kairo is still young" I said.
"Not really he's turning five soon. Our boys are growing up" Gia frowned. When Madison wasn't pay attention I leaned in and whispered in her ear "we can always make another one". Gia pushed me back and walked away. Madison raised her brow "What's her problem?".
"She's emotional" I lied. Watching her walk off to the backyard where majority of the party will be. Throughout the party Gia kept her distance from me. She mingled with other guest at the party. I couldn't help but watch her.
"What are you looking at?" Madison came over and asked me. "Kairo is losing his mind so I wanted to make sure he doesn't go too crazy" I lied once again.
"No offense but maybe you should get Kairo checked out. He's way too hyper. Maybe he might have a under lying condition or something" she said.
"Madison please don't speak on things you have no idea of. Kairo is completely healthy. And for the record Gia did get him checked out and nothing is wrong with him. He's four. He's acting like how a normal four year old boy would" I said.
"I'm sorry baby I was just trying to help" she said. She was getting on my nerves. Walking away from her I went inside to get some more drinks to put outside. Gia walked past me. "Hey hey..." grabbing her arm.
"What?" She asked.
"Why the cold shoulder lately?" I asked.
"Are you serious? The comment you just said to me when I walked in here. That's why. Go have babies with Madison" she said.
"I was joking Gia. Trying to make you smile" I lied.
"I'm not dumb Delano. You meant what you said" she said. Madison walked in and stood there looking at both of us. Gia walked past us both and went back outside. Madison looked at me "What was going on here?".
"Asking her if she's enjoying the party" I said.
"Doesn't seem that way" she said.
"But it was so..." I said. Grabbing the drinks I went back outside to put them in the cooler. As the party started to come to a close. People started with the pictures. I handed my phone to a friend of mine "take a pic of Gia and the boys and myself together".
Gia looked at me confused "and why would you need me in the pic?".
"Oh come on. Later on we can show the boys this picture and let them see how we got along" I said pulling her to me. "Just stand right here". Ryan stood infront of me and Kairo right beside him. "Say cheese" my friend said.
"That was a little odd" Gia said. She grabbed her things and both boys. "Say bye to your dad and thank him for the party" she told Ryan. He ran up to me and hugged me "thanks dad for the party".
"No problem. Remember your nine now so you have to watch out for mom and your baby brother. Well until I come back okay" I said. Ryan didn't catch on to the last part. "Okay" He said.
Madison and I were cleaning up. "Delano can I ask you something?".
"What?" I asked.
"Do you still have feelings for Gia?" She asked.
"No, why?" I asked.
"Because when I saw you guys together when I walked in it seemed that way. And then your mom swears you still love her" she said.
"My mom doesn't like Gia. So anything negative she can put in your head she will. I married you so it's obvious I chose you right?" I asked. She nodded "yeah I guess you're right".
"Now let's finish cleaning up. I'm exhausted" I said. She smiled and helped me clean up the rest of the mess from outside.
