Night 1

"All you need to do is check out the animatronics I've stored here. They shouldn't cause any trouble."

"Can you repeat that?" I asked.

"I said, your task here is to check out these animatronics from 'Circus Baby's Pizza World' and some new ones we had to store away," said William as his voice crackled through the phone. "Are they active?" I asked. "We'll find out tonight," he responded. "Are you sure this is a good idea? The closure of Circus Baby's Pizza World cost us financially. Not to forget reputation," I responded as I could hear the elevator shake as I pressed the button to go down. "It's a sacrifice we don't have to thrive on. Besides, those animatronics would never receive the same attention the other pizzeria has right now," responded William. "All you're here for is to observe these animatronics to note if they're active, and find a further purpose for them." "Fine," I responded. "Good. Don't let yourself play into their hands," he responded as he hung up on me now. I put my phone in my pocket while sighing, not wanting to be here. "Couldn't hire a security guard to take this job," I said to myself. "Welcome to the first day to your exciting new career! Whether you were approached at a job fair, read our ad in 'Screws, Bolts, and Hairpins', or if this is the result of a dare, we welcome you," echoed a voice through the elevator. I will be your personal guide to help you get started. I'm a model 5 of the Handyman's Robotics and Unit Repair System, but you can call me Hand Unit." "Nice system A.I, Dad" I said to myself. "Your new career promises challenge, intrigue, and endless janitorial opportunities," he continued. Suddenly a keypad opened to the side of the elevator, as I walked over to it. "Please enter your name as seen above the keypad. This cannot be changed later, so please be careful!" "Simple enough. If this damn keypad wasn't glitching out," I said as I tried typing my name. After a minute of me carefully trying to spell out my name, the screen was covered with 'error', showing I had failed. "It seems that you had some trouble with the keypad. I see what you were trying to type, and I will autocorrect it for you. One moment," said Hand Unit. "Welcome, 'Eggs Benedict'." "Dad, your creation is really starting to piss me off," I said to myself. Suddenly, a loud blurred on top of me as the elevator came to a stop, while playing a hint of music sounding like it was from a carnival. "Makes me feel like I'm apart of a circus of hell," I said looking up. "You can now open the elevator, using that bright, red, and obvious button. Let's get to work!" said Hand Unit. I walked over to where the button was as I pressed it, opening and revealing the labyrinth of the dead. There was caution type above a vent in front of a small room, most likely to warn of the dangers this place kept buried beneath. "I didn't come here to be lead away from here. I came to embrace the sinister strings of blood being operated," I said as I walked in while getting on the floor and crawling through the vent. "Allow me to fill this somewhat frightening silence with some light-hearted banter. Due to the massive success and, even more so, the unfortunate closing of 'Fredbear's Family Diner,' it was clear that the stage was set, no pun intended, for another contender on children's entertainment," said Hand Unit as I crawled through the vent. "Yeah. An abomination I'm apart of now by force," I said to myself as I bumped my head against the top of the vent. "Dammit! How the hell do you manage through these type of surroundings?" "Unlike most entertainment venues, our robotic entertainers are rented out for private parties during the day. And it's your job to get the robots back in proper, working order before the following morning," he continued. "The only other use I have besides murdering children," I said to myself as I exited out of the vent and into another room. In the room on both sides were two panels with a blue and red button, along with two vents at the bottom of both sides. There was also a vent in front of me, along with other weird mechanical things around it. On the right was a weird robot thing, nothing more but a prize. On the left were weird robotic faces that looked almost human that all blinked constantly. Something to keep even me up at night. On the top left was a clock that had the face of Circus Baby's Pizza World, the face of a failure in dad's eyes. An innocent being that was capable of stealing someone precious to me. At the top and in the middle over the entrance hung four screens that had nothing on, and in the middle was a mask of an animatronic. One I didn't know of. It looked like a clown that had a red nose with a yellow and green hat, though the only creep y vibe I got out of it was its mask separated into sections the same thing used for her. Something that seemed to signify what it was capable doing, almost like it could be in anyone. And just by it hanging above made me think it seemed to show the untamed domain of something I did not want to enter in. "You are now in the primary control module. It's actually a crawl space between the two front show rooms. Now, let's get started with your daily tasks," said Hand Unit unexpectedly. "View the window to your left. This is the 'Ballora Gallery Party Room and Dance Studio,' encouraging kids to get fit and enjoy pizza." I turned to my left; there was a large window that separated me and the room, besides the vent. There was no lights in the room, probably Henry's idea of course to save energy and power as Dad always said. It was so dark that I couldn't make out anything, even with my imagination it couldn't visualize what this room held. "Let's turn on the light and see if Ballora is on stage. Press the blue button on the elevated keypad to your left," he said. Ballora was one of the animatronics that was supposed to be added to the cast of characters at Circus Baby's Pizza World, along with other animatronics. Though that idea was demolished in a day. I moved my arm to press the button that was bright blue on the pad as a large light revealed a stage standing alone with nobody there. "Dammit Dad. I thought these things weren't active," I said to myself as the light turned off. "Oh-uh. It looks like Ballora doesn't feel like dancing. Let's give her some motivation. Press the red button now to administer a controlled shock. Maybe that will put the spring back in her step," said Hand Unit. "What? What is this?" I asked myself. I slowly pressed the button as there was an electrical sound with a flash as well, making me jump a little. "Jesus! What kind of torture are they receiving?" I asked myself. I pressed the button for the light as I got a glimpse of her dancing with these miniature things that resembled ballerinas in way. This was the first time I had seen her, and I was not amazed. "At least they were going for something different," I said to myself. "Excellent. Ballora is feeling like her old self again and will be ready to perform again for tomorrow," said Hand Unit. "Why does she need to perform? So much is being hidden from me because of Dad," I said. "Now view the window to your right. This is the 'Funtime Auditorium,' where Funtime Foxy encourages kids to play and share. Try the light. Let's see what Funtime Foxy is up to," he said. I walked over to the panel on the right, as I pressed the button, revealing nothing but an empty stage again. "Looks like Funtime Foxy is taking the day off. Let's motivate Funtime Foxy with a controlled shock," said Hand Unit in response. "Hmm. Guess father was right when he said these things were moving freely around the night. These things better not have any souls in them," I said to myself while activating the controlled shock feature. "As much as I hate using this thing, it's the only way I'll prevent the animatronics from reaching me," I said to myself. After the light and sound of pain only felt by the animatronics, I activated the light. Only to find the animal had not returned back to its habitat. "Let's try another controlled shock," said Hand Unit in response. I pressed the button for a controlled shock, as I pressed the button a moment later for the light to see if Funtime Foxy had returned to her stage. I got a glimpse of her at the stage moving around, thankfully she had returned. The main reason I knew Funtime Foxy was a girl because of her appearance and features. You would have to be a fool to think it wasn't a girl. Then again, robots don't technically have genders. At least that's what a normal person would tell you. Not Dad. Suddenly, the front vent opened up, revealing another vent to crawl through to wherever it took you. "Looks like Funtime Foxy is in perfect working order. Great job! In front of you is another vent shaft. Crawl through it to reach the 'Circus Gallery Control Module'," said Hand Unit. "Great. More vents," I said as I got down on my hands and knees while crawling through the vent. It was so dark I practically needed a flashlight to seen five feet in front of me, let alone a source of light at the very least. "Motion Trigger: 'Circus Gallery Vent'," said a female computer voice as I crawled through. "Thank god this place has protection," I said to myself as I reached the end of the vent while crawling into a new room. There was a panel to the right of me, the same one the other room had. This room had big multicolored lights above, though even these lights couldn't produce enough light to see what was on the other side of the glass window. There was also a couple of buttons and weird animatronic thing that was in a suit, something only a child would want. At the top right I noticed a poster for the owner of this room, Circus Baby. "Now I see truly what that clown face reminded me of back in the other room," I said to myself. "On the other side of the glass is 'Circus Baby's Auditorium.' Let's check the light and see what Baby is up to," said Hand Unit diverting my attention back to him. I pressed the button for the light, revealing only a hint of light making the room still barely visible. And no sign of any animatronic. "Looks like a few of the lights are out, but we can fix that later. Let's encourage Baby to cheer up with a controlled shock," said Hand Unit. 'I rather oblige to this for once,' I thought as I pressed the button. After the electrifying flash given off, I pressed the button for the light. The baby hadn't returned to bed. "Let's try another controlled shock," responded Hand Unit. "Of course," I muttered as I hit the button for the controlled shock again, while pressing the button for the light a moment after. The monster had gotten loose. "Let's try another controlled shock," said Hand Unit again. "Dad, I swear if this thing is missing. Out of all these animatronics here..." I said as I hit the button for the controlled shock again. I pressed the button for the light; once again nothing there but the darkness that masked the presence of Baby. Wherever she was. "Great job, Circus Baby! We knew we could count on you," said Hand Unit. "What!? She's not even there!" I exclaimed pointing at the window. "That concludes your duties for the first night on the job. We don't want you to leave overwhelmed. Otherwise, you might not come back. Please leave using the vent behind you and we'll see you tomorrow," continued Hand Unit. "I swear Dad, your damn system is bugged to shit," I said as I got back on my hands and knees while I crawled back through the vent I came from. "Guess this beats killing children. Wish there was I way I could escape from Dad. Or at least there could've been a way to save El-" My words were cut off to the sound of banging on the vent door behind me as I crawled faster to escape that death trap. "Motion Trigger: Circus Gallery Vent," said the female voice again as I exited out of the vent. "I hate that place. It's reminding me of... her."

"Another day, another dramatic entry in the lives of Vlad and his distressed mistress. Where will they go? What will they do? All of that and more, happening right now."

The sound of my telephone on the table next to me got my attention away from the TV as I reached my hand across, while having the other hand hold my bowl of popcorn I had on my lap. "Hello?" I answered putting the phone up against my ear. "Ah! Hello son. How was your first night at my hospitable domain?" said my father on the other line. "Fine. Except you should've told me what I was getting myself in to," I said. "Oh? Was not everything up to your standards?" he asked. "Maybe to yours. For one, what the hell kind of devices do you use to control the animatronics?!" I exclaimed. "A simple yet productive method. Why? Does it concern you?" he asked. "As long as they're not used on me. Also. When your A.I asked me to... return Baby to her place, she was unresponsive. She didn't even show up, and Hand Unit acted like she had returned," I said. "She never did." "Hmm. A glitch perhaps. I'll have to stop by tonight to check on that," he responded. "Are you sure that Baby animatronic isn't glitched as well? How do I know if you're the one doing this to kill me?" I asked. "She has not been tampered with. Besides, if I wanted to it would be in such a inhumane way. Just like Eli-" "Elizabeth. Don't remind me," I responded finishing his sentence. "If you try to escape my grasps, there will be consequences worse than your sister's fate. Do you understand?" said my father. I didn't respond, not a single answer slipped from my mouth. "Michael. Do you understand?" asked again my Dad. "I do," I responded. "Good. Then we are both on good terms. I have to stay late and attend some business with Henry and check up on some other valuable necessities. I'll see you tomorrow morning." He hung up as I put the phone back while I went back to watching TV. All I wanted to do now was relax. "If only I could escape this life," I said. "I lost my mom, my dad, and Elizabeth. I am not losing myself next."
