Chapter 73: Memories To Spare

Springtrap's P.O.V

"No signs of any thing roaming around. We're clear of anything from taking over us," said Springbonnie as we walked back near the forest of the Flipside that could sleep peacefully now. "I can't believe it. We actually succeeded," said Bonnie as all of us walked towards the forest. "Not just yet. We still need to escape this place," I responded turning around to face Mangle. "That portal you mentioned, I would like to see it. Let's see if we can find a way to activate it." "Follow me then," said Mangle. "Fredbear. Stay with the others. Me, Springtrap, Bonnie, Springbonnie, and Shadow Freddy will check out the portal." "Understood. It is certain you will find a way out of here. To have a purpose again," responded Fredbear. "Everyone will have a purpose again. Just like how I found mine," I responded as we all walked away from the others. "First thing I know I'm going to do when we get into the real world is see the beauty that makes up the world. You know. Just to see what kind of world I'm going to live with," said Springbonnie. "That's if this William you mentioned hasn't transferred your home into his own world," added in Bonnie. "Well. He can't. At the moment. But who knows what he's done during my absence," I responded. "To be honest, I never really had a home after I woke up thirty years later. I guess the only home I have left is the one Funtime Freddy's lives in. Utah really is a beautiful place for me." "What's a Utah?" asked Bonnie. "Sounds like a place to probably be burned. But hey! That's just my imagination," said Springbonnie. "It does sound nice," responded Mangle. "You should see the wonders of the world. All the countries, places I've dreamed to see when I got older. Now all that William wanted was to see me watch the world burn alongside with him," I responded. We all approached an oddly shaped structure as I we stopped in front of it; there were two pillars that were placed on a pedestal that had stairs leading up to it. There were also markings on the pillars; they appeared to be the faces of Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, Foxy which was odd to see. The top part of the portal that connected these two pillars had a weird cube symbol on top of it, something I didn't understand the meaning of. "We think this portal can be activated by this spot," said Mangle pointing as I turned to the hole she was pointing that was carved into the left side of the pillar. The shape of it was a cube, a constant pattern that felt important for it to be reappearing over-and-over. "Hold on. That cube is the source of this place, it looks like the exact same size of it. That might be the key," I said. "But if we take it out won't this place be destroyed?" asked Bonnie. "Well, we don't know what could happen. Maybe this place will consume us into a black hole. Or the portal could take us to another dimension. That would be nice to visit," said Springbonnie. "How do we know if this portal will take us back home anyways?" asked Bonnie. "It is the only possible way of transportation Chipper could have used to travel from this world to our world, or at least send that army of his through," responded Shadow Freddy. "We're still going through the portal. It has to at least lead somewhere important for it to be here. We're not going to enter it for nothing," I said. "Let's head back to the source of this place and see if your theory is correct," said Mangle as we all turned around and walked back to where the others were. "This place seems... off now," said Shadow Freddy looking around. "You're right. It's too quiet. No sounds of any crows or anything else. Guess we dug a deeper grave for this place than intended," I responded. "But I feel we haven't won yet." "We still have your father to deal with. Remember that. Contacting your friends when we get out of here is going to prove difficult also since you mentioned they were destroyed," said Mangle. "So how do you plan on finding them?" asked Bonnie. "Just use a flare or give them I call. That's always the best option for me. Or we could send a pigeon to them," said Springbonnie. "I have an idea of where to check. The last place we were was at a new pizzeria that was close to being opened, which is where we found William. Though I'm not even sure how much time has passed from this world and mine," I responded. "We'll find them. Just like how you found William," said Mangle. "More like he found me. Besides, for all we know Chipper could've informed William already of our progress," I responded. "He's already prepared for another confrontation." "And so are you," responded Mangle as we all walked back to Fredbear and the others. "Were their any solutions proposed?" asked Fredbear noticing us. "Yes. We're going to grab the source of this place since we believe it is the key to activate the portal. Keep watch while we grab it," responded Mangle. "Understood," he responded as we a;; walked away from the others and into the forest. "I bet Funtime Freddy won't believe the shit I went through here. If only he was here to witness it," I said. "He most certainly would," said Shadow Freddy. "You think he'll be willing to accept us?" asked Bonnie. "He wouldn't be hesitant to. When me, the old Mangle, and Shadow Freddy invaded his house to find Henry and instead took his friends hostage, attacked him, and showed myself in my unstable nature. He didn't see me the way others did. He saw me as a broken person, used only for the purpose of inserting dread into others. He saw there could be change in me. Change that only needed guidance for it to proceed and reform myself," I responded. "He's something else. He's not just one us, he's of them. He's human to me. We may be completely different people, but we both got the same goals we expect to accomplish in our lifespan. To live in peace and destroy the reputation my father helped me name in its life time. To not carry the guilt we would have to live with, knowing we helped shape the nightmare the franchise evolved into." "He's human-like? I find that a stretch. From what I've gathered from you aren't robots not even considered to be human? Can they even have the feelings humans possess?" asked Mangle. "I used to think that but it seems that's not true. All around, even now we are humans," I responded. "Feels just like home." "I don't know. Sounds kinda like a weird type of home in this place. Probably worse when you sleep here and have the crows pecking at your head. Maybe that could make me drift to sleep faster," said Springbonnie. "Ok! Do we even remember where the tree is?" asked Bonnie. "Hmm, let me see," said Springbonnie looking around at every tree as she finally stopped at one. "Yep! There it is." "Are you sure?" asked Bonnie as we walked over to it. I noticed on the ground there were twigs that were in the form of a smiley face as we all stopped in front of it. "This is an unusual way to mark something," said Shadow Freddy looking down upon it. "Mangle always did say you gotta find any way to mark an unknown location for re-purpose later on," responded Springbonnie. "That was not at all what I was referring to do," responded Mangle as we all walked over to the tree. "Anyways. Let's get the power source and meet back with the others." We all appeared in the room for the power source, stilling sitting in its vulnerable place as I walked over to it. "Wait! Are you sure it is wise to take the thing from its place? Even if we take it off and this place doesn't react from its removal, then what of this place?" asked Bonnie. "Whatever outcome results in. Well. We'll see," I responded as I approached the power source. I slowly shifted my hand towards the thing, unsure of what would happen once I removed it from its resting place. I pulled it away from its spot, only with nothing in return but the pleasure of not waking up the monster to stir chaos in this place. "Well. So much for this place crumbling. Looks likes we're not going down with this place," said Springbonnie. "That's good. But now we know this place won't be destroyed." said Bonnie. "For all we know, that thing might not even be the source!" "There has to be a way to destroy this place then. Unless-" I stopped myself to notice the flickering of the lights illuminating from the ground, almost reacting from us removing the cube from its spot. "Unless. We did do something," I said. "Well then. Let's head back to others and leave this place," said Mangle as we all ran out of the room and back to the forest, doing our best to reach the others as fast as we could. "If this place gets destroyed with us. I swear I'll remember this forever," said Bonnie as we all ran through he forest. "We're not going down with this place. Only the memories of this hell will," I responded. "How much time do you think we have? If so little that we'll get stuck here, then I know I'm going to sit back and watch the world burn," said Springbonnie. "Sounds like a perfect last moment for you," I said as we all ran back towards the path and towards everyone waiting for us. "What you cowards running for?! Run away so that you'll never come back!" exclaimed Phantom Mangle. "We got the key. This place might be depleting its leftover life," I said. "What do you mean?" asked Funtime Foxy. "Oh! This place is going to get destroyed, along with us if we don't leave," said Springbonnie. "Your statement is logical. The estimated time we have before this place is eaten into oblivion is seven minutes," said Endo 02. "Why didn't you tell us that you could calculate how much time we had?!" I exclaimed. "Your permission was not offered to me," he responded. "There's no time to relent on our mistakes. Everyone! Come with us to the portal! We're leaving," said Mangle. "Seven minutes is good enough for me," said Springbonnie. "Yes. But wasting time for our own purpose isn't necessary. The sooner we leave the sooner we can never look back at this creation," said Shadow Freddy. "Yeah. Especially when my mind can create something like this," I added in as we all walked towards the portal, while I held onto the cube tightly. I was not going to destroy our only way of leaving this place behind. "You sure we can leave this place? I doubt it will take us to your home you speak of," said Jack-O-Bonnie. "It will," I responded. "You sound too confident. Too much for a tron to say normally," said Plushtrap. "All I want is to get out of here, along with the rest of you. And we will," I responded as we all approached the portal. "And if it doesn't take us to your world? Then what?" asked Mr. Chipper. "It will," I responded turning to look at him. I turned back to the portal as I walked over to it and inserted the cube inside of the hole provided. The cube started to glow in its rightful place as blue energy streaked across the portal, while it light up blue in the middle. It had worked. I couldn't help but my smile once more as everyone cheered knowing it had worked and that our escape wasn't indefinite. "We're going home," I said. "Well. I guess I'm relieved it works," said Bonnie. "Oh! I can't wait to visit your world Springtrap! I know it'll have more wonders than this one. Probably also things that won't try to control us like slaves," said Springbonnie. "I sure wouldn't want that same feeling coming there with us. Am I right?" All of us stared at her, thinking her words were more complex than clear. "Hmm. Right on," she said. "It will be nice for us to be reunited again with the others again," said Shadow Freddy patting my back. "It sure will be. Once we leave," I responded. "Though I'll be glad to see William waiting on the other side." "Well, we all know how eager you would be to treat him with a dose of vengeance," said Mangle. "If he's waiting, he's only going to receive some payback from me for all that he has done to me. And to everyone," I responded. "Then your destiny continues to be for-filled. The beginning of the end slowly creeps over our shoulders, preparing to reunite with the darkness and seek the completion of its conquest to reshape the world. William will most certainly know of the others leaving this place along with yourself," said Fredbear. "You have an army, and so do he. But even with such our army, the strength of it combined might easily not be the answer to defeating his army or him alone. Only you and Funtime Freddy will know what to do when the time is right. When the time on the clock strikes doom and not mercy." I nodded in response as I slowly walked over to the portal, though not before stopping and turning back around. "Endo 02. How much time do we have left?" I asked. "Approximately five minutes and forty-nine seconds left," he responded. "Good. I need to say this before we go, because I feel I might not ever get the chance to say this ever. I can't thank you all enough. For what you've done to help me change myself." "We did something mate? No way," said Foxy. "You did. All of you. Without you I couldn't change myself to be me again. You know. There was something I lost a long time ago when I was scooped that was apart of me. Something essential to my kind. To us humans," I said. "What was it?" asked Mangle. "Being human," I responded. "Ever since that event I felt well... nonhuman. It was like Ennard dehumanized me after he retreated from my body and left behind a machine. Something I was bound to accepting. Something I had to live with. But during the time I was with mostly Mangle, Bonnie, Springbonnie, and the others. I felt a connection being reestablished. There were minor connections with the old Mangle but that didn't fully reconnect me with my old self. Funtime Freddy, Funtime Foxy, Bon Bon,  Fredbear, and Shadow Freddy also had me in the right direction. But seeing the different personality's of everyone here and even defeating Purple Guy made me realize something. This was me. Who I was back then. But not the full me. I wasn't an asshole to everyone, didn't appreciate the consideration of others, and had little sympathy for those around me. All that was left behind was a monster. Or at least someone on the path to becoming one. But now I am free from it. Free to be myself again. And I'm thankful I have people from keeping me away from that path." "We are happy to fight beside you in return," said Mangle walking up to me and hugging me. "Wait minute sister! You're with him! Ha! I sure am glad she's with him," said Foxy. "About time," said Lolbit. Right when we parted our hug the ground started to tremble for a moment as we all looked around. "Dammit. How time is left?" I asked Endo 02. "Four minutes and fourteen seconds left. Though my calculations cannot dictate whether these occurrences are related to the after effects of the power source being removed," responded Endo 02. "Then it's time to let these memories get destroyed, while the good memories are spared," I responded as I slowly walked towards the portal. Only something had to prevent us from leaving. The ground shook longer and harder this time as I could barely keep my balance. "Recalculating. Recalculating. Unknown energy signal nearby," said Endo 02. "What! Where!?" I exclaimed holding on the portal to keep my balance. All of a sudden, the ground burst into pieces as rock and ruble were shot up in the air. And only for something to reach the surface of this place that deserved to stay beneath. Something came out of the ground, something enormous. I couldn't even describe it with one word alone. It was tall and large, it was mainly a thing that was made up of cubes; illuminating blue cubes. "W-What is this thing?" asked Bonnie. "I am your doom. Your creator. Your master. You all belong to me. All of you," it said. "There is no way to deconstruct the maker." The ground started to shake even harder as cracks started coming out of the ground. "The only way to feel pain is to endure with it by the loss of others around you," it said. Suddenly, a beam shot out of its hand as it hit Withered Chica and Endoplush, vaporizing them as they glowed blue before falling into pieces of tiny blue glowing cubes. "No!" I exclaimed. "There is no escape for anyone. You will succumb to my power. You will all follow my rule. Just as you were all created for," it said. The ground cracked even more as the place feel down suddenly and broke into pieces. Parts of the Flipside became tiny islands separated from each other, as we all floated while also trying to grab hold on any left over parts of the once remaining Flipside. "Who is this guy!?" I exclaimed as I grabbed onto one of the islands. "He's 'The Creator' that was mentioned. He's the one who controls this world," said Fredbear. "We all have a dad?" asked Springbonnie. "Ignore that question. We have to eliminate him," said Mangle. "Dammit. She's right. If he escapes there will be no point in leaving this place," I said. "Are you insane!? You saw what he did right?! He destroyed the whole Flipside!?" exclaimed Bonnie. "He destroyed W-" "I know. He destroyed Withered Chica and Endoplush. Their deaths are not going to be forgotten," I responded. "Springtrap. I hate to admit it but Bonnie's right. This is nothing like we've encountered before and we will lose everyone else if we don't leave," said Shadow Freddy. "Your friend has a valid point. The Creator is here to put us in our places. Along side with him. Escape is not the cowards way when fighting back in this way to demise in this situation," said Fredbear. I sighed for a moment, knowing I knew now William wasn't going to be our only problem to focus on, but I wasn't going to risk the live's of everyone else. "Alright. Fine. We need to get the others back here and find the portal. Wherever it is," I responded. "Oh! Its over there," said Springbonnie pointing as we all looked towards the direction she was directing us to. All across this void filled with destruction was the portal, still active on an island miles away from us. "Shit. Everyone! Regroup now!" I exclaimed. "Hello," said Balloon Boy coming over to us from one of the islands along with Toy Bonnie. "Well, glad you're still functioning Balloon Boy," said Springbonnie. A moment later, he was hit by a laser as he was materialized in an instant in front of our eyes. "Ah, well so much for him. May as well get them revived," said Springbonnie. "Toy Bonnie, get everyone over here. And get someone to revive Balloon Boy and the others," commanded Mangle. "You got it. I'll be back bros," said Toy Bonnie flying over to the others. Off to the side, I noticed over at one of the islands was Phantom Chica and Endo 01, as they both got destroyed instantly. "We need to round everyone up quickly. If we lose our healers, then I don't know if we can bring them back ever," I said. "Most of the others are scattered between us and the portal, rather than the others that are between us and that thing," responded Mangle. "We'll need covering fire to escape this thing," I said. "Good point," responded Mangle. "Everyone! Focus your attacks on this thing!" called Mangle to all the other animatronics behind us. A moment later attacks started spearing out behind us, like a fire with its flames going everywhere. I could see Toy Bonnie floating over to us with Golden Freddy, Nightmare Foxy, Nightmare Bonnie, Phantom Mangle, Lolbit, Chica, RXQ, Coffee, and Phantom Balloon Boy, all looking fine mostly, except with the expressions with fear they held onto. "S-Shadow Freddy? Are we fine?" asked RXQ. "We're in good hands. I promise," responded Shadow Freddy. "You call that fine!? I'll scrap that thing with oil leaking!" exclaimed Phantom Mangle. "We're all retreating. That's an order," said Mangle. "Nothing is here to claim my leadership that is rightfully mine to lead. Not even yours. And this thing will see the wraith of my power," said Phantom Mangle as she charged at the thing. "Dammit Phantom Mangle," I said as she ran at the thing. As soon as it saw her it instantly shot its beam at her, as she was vaporized into pieces on contact. "So much for following orders," said Bonnie. "We'll give her a second chance and life. Golden Freddy use your Gift Boxes to bring her and the others back," commanded Mangle. He nodded in response as he used his ability, only nothing appeared. The dead was not rising from their resting place. "Whats going on? Why aren't they coming back?" I asked as I looked at Golden Freddy. He looked up at me, and his expression needed no words to describe the remorse he had for the others not coming back. Even he seemed to show more guilt than me. "No, no, no! Fuck! He's blocking that ability for us to use! We can't bring them back!" I exclaimed. "Scrap. There's nothing we can do for them now. We have to retreat," said Mangle. "We're not leaving them behind! No one is getting left behind!" I exclaimed. "There is nothing we can do for them! Springtrap! You need to accept those who die truly for good! I wish we could save them but there's nothing more we can do but avenge their demise another time!" exclaimed Mangle. "They've endured the pain of your father long enough. Now they will rest well knowing you will carry out their legacy. Our legacy. But we're not falling just yet until we stop William and this thing. There is no eternal rest of us to accept yet." I looked down knowing I didn't want to leave everyone we've lost here to die along with this place. "I made a promise to them I couldn't keep," I said. "They, including you didn't except fate to greet them today. But the time to greet fate back for this thing and William will be scheduled another time. That's a promise you won't be able to break," responded Mangle. "Ok. Ok, fine. What now then?" I responded. "We need to retreat back with the others and find Endo 02 to find out how much time we have left to leave," responded Mangle. "Ah! We don't have much time! Eh! My sugar rush is getting th-" The strike of a beam hitting and vaporizing Coffee made us all duck down from underneath the island, letting the drift of this void sweep away the ashes and parts of Coffee. "Darn! We're all retreating now! Try to get everyone to push back and find Endo 02!" exclaimed Mangle as we all floated back while avoiding the incoming attacks from the others. "Push back! We're leaving!" Toy Freddy, Chica, Nightmare Freddy, Crying Child, Marionette, and Nightmare Chica who were all behind the torn up islands as cover, all moved in acknowledgement to her words. "Where's my mommy? I'm scared," said Crying Child along with his crackling voice. "I know. We're here to protect you ok?" I said going over to him. "A-Are we though?" asked RXQ. "It depends on the outcome. But I'm certain we will do all in our power to get out of here," said Shadow Freddy to him. "Toy Freddy and Chica. You both go behind us and try to find Endo 02 and bring him over here," commanded Mangle. "What's the point?! This thing is going to obliterate them in an instant! You saw what he did to the others!" exclaimed Bonnie. "What happened to them?" asked Chica. "That thing made them disappear like ashes mixed with power. I see no way out of this," said Lolbit. "Not everyone is going to get out of this if we d-" Mangle was stopped as a blast penetrated through the rock as Lolbit fell into cubes, like a building tumbling to the ground. The expression of Mangle turned from horror to anger as she looked at Toy Freddy and Chica. "Both of you go!" she exclaimed. "But ho-" tried to say Chica. "Go! We'll provide covering fire!" Mangle exclaimed back. "Chica don't!" protested Bonnie. "I'll be fine," Chica responded as she and Toy Freddy floated back behind us as we all started using our attacks on this thing. "Chica!" exclaimed Bonnie as he turned to face Mangle. "What are you thinking?!" "Bonnie! You need to focus on yourself and her safety. If you don't provide covering fire for her and Toy Freddy, that's two less animatronics that won't get out of this still functioning," said Mangle. He paused for a moment, still having his eyes fixed on her as he turned and started using Bash Jam at the thing. "The everlasting will in you all is draining. Including your time to live peacefully," said the thing. "This thing seems like it's not getting affected by any of our attacks!" I exclaimed while using Springlocks. "Just distract it long enough to ensure Chica and Toy Freddy arrive unharmed!" exclaimed back Mangle. The thing stopped using his beams as he started to float over to us. "He's coming!" exclaimed Bonnie. "Keep pressuring him with our attacks!" exclaimed Mangle. He shot his laser at the island next to us, which was occupied by Crying Child, Phantom Balloon Boy, and Nightmare Bonnie. They were no more as they were vaporized along with the island. "Dammit! It's not doing anything!" I exclaimed. "We found him!" exclaimed a voice behind us we all turned around to see Toy Freddy floating over with Chica and Endo 02 as they approached us. "Looks like another event that could be satisfactory to my bo-" tried to say Toy Freddy as he was hit by the laser, while Chica and Endo 02 floated over to us and behind the island to avoid the horrors of the battlefield. "Shit! Endo 02. We need to know how much time we have before this place falls apart," I said to him. "By my calculations, the estimated time is two minutes and fifty five seconds," he responded. "We have to retreat! Unless we all want to be vaporized here!" exclaimed Bonnie. "The only guarantee for survival is by the necessary precautions to ensure it," said Fredbear. "What do you mean?" asked Springbonnie. "You will all need a distraction. A protector," he responded. "Fredbear we can't lose you! That's an order!" exclaimed Mangle. "Only I had the central power to command, but now I pass it on to you. Use it wisely and oblige yourself to let others lead for you," he responded. "Fredbear are you sure about this? We need you to defeat William," I said. "My fate is already sealed. My time here has also been used for the benefit of you and the others. Now you will all take my teachings and pass them on to others, or die with them honorably. Besides, you know just as me Springtrap that you don't need me to defeat William. Not even the others. Only yourself," he responded. "Remember Springtrap. The clock always watches the time given before it strikes the moment for you to ignite the flames." He hopped over the island right when the island was hit and destroyed, as we all floated away right on time. "Bro. He sure is a rocking hero," said Toy Bonnie. "No. He's a parent to us. Now we take his place to teach those who have tread off his path," I said. We all floated back as I turned to see Fredbear using all his attacks on the thing with all the determination for us to live. The thing hit Fredbear as he slowly disintegrated into the ashes of this world, though not before leaving one final word. As he turned to me in his final moments he spoke one last message before becoming one with this place. One source of guidance left for me to hold onto as he lips moved, hearing his voice in my head.
