*** 3 months later ***
It's been three whole months since I have seen Mavy. And just talking on the phone isn't cutting it. I have to see her! Besides Maverick, I've been up to my usual trouble and chaos. I have been arrested six times; vandalism, assault, the usual. I've been cutting school all together.
Today, I'm sitting in the principal's office with my mom and my beaten down, excuse for a father. I'm glad Mavy never met him.
"I'm very sorry, Mr. & Mrs. Stryker, but your son may attend this school until the end of the term. He must leave." he said.
"Are you sure there's nothing he can do?" my mother pleaded.
"Mom, just stop. They never wanted me here anyway." I said angrily.
"Your son has all the skills necessary to stay here, but he's just not Winehouse Academy material." he said. My father left, good riddance.
"You never wanted to let me stay here, I was just a publicity stunt for your little elite school."
"I thought you wanted to stay?" my mother said.
"I've got better things to do that don't involve me being a poster child." I said angrily. This is my third school, in Baltimore, this year. And the only private.
I drove home, something I haven't done since Maverick showed up, I never drove my car. I came home to the usual quiet for a little while, then the yelling and sounds of tears. I beat up my dad, for the seventh time this week. I wasn't in the mood. After, the cops hauled me and my dad away, him in a Ambulance and me, a squad car.
Alejandro came to get me, as usual. "You really need to get yourself together." he told me as he drove me home. Al is my only 'Richie Rich' friend, from Winehouse, I knew him before but we weren't close.
"I know!" He gave me the same speech every time he picked me up, with the exception of when the girls were here.
Al, dropped me off at home. I couldn't take this anymore. I packed up all of my stuff, called the guys and waited for my mom. I sat at the kitchen table facing the door.
When she came home, she looked startled by my presence.
"You need to talk?" she asked sitting across from me. I nodded.
"Mom, I have to leave. And so do you!" I started, "I'm leaving tomorrow, I don't know where and I don't know if I'm ever coming back." I told her.
"I understand, but what about your friends? More specifically, Alejandro?" she always did like him more than the others.
I rolled my eyes, "He'll get over it. Mom, you need to leave too. Don't tell dad either." I said.
"I have something to tell you, too." she said. "You own an apartment in Virginia. Go there you'll be safe." she said.
"Thanks mom." I said leaving the table.
"I'm leaving right after you, kiddo." she said, as I climbed the stairs.
I laid in my bed that night, and thought about all the possibilities. More importantly, my Mavy!
