I let out a yawn as I pulled my jeans up and buttoned them. It was 4:30, and I was getting ready for work. Pen asked me to come in early to help her with some things, so here I was— getting up nearly three hours early to help. Why was she such a workaholic?

She'd also informed me that it was a casual day, so I could be comfortable for the almost 12 hour shift I was about to put in.

Clay began barking down the hall, in the living room, telling me Danny up and about for the morning. He offered to take me to work because he and Jules were meeting up at 5:30 to work out together.

"Babe! I've made some coffee for you this morning," he called. It was like music to my ears. There was a reason why he was my dream man, he knew exactly how to help me start out my day.

"Thank god," I whispered to myself. "Okay, I'll be right out!" I moved from the closet and into the bathroom to make sure my hair was under control, then grabbed my purse from the bedroom.

"Alright! I'm coming," I said as I shuffled down the hall and into the living room, where Danny was kneeling and petting Clay. "Ugh, you two are way too cute."

Danny smiled up at me and nodded. "You look beautiful this morning. Are ya ready to go? Traffic shouldn't be too bad yet, but we should head out just in case."

I nodded. "Uh... Yeah, I think I'm all good," I said with a smile. I put my purse down on the coffee table and made my way into the kitchen, where both Danny and I's coffees were sitting on the counter. "Which one is mine?"

"You choose, we both drink our coffee the same way, black as night," Danny replied as he came up from behind me. Clay's nails clicked on the floor with every step as he followed Danny.

I picked one up and turned around, smiling at the two idiots looking toward me. "What's got you in such a good mood this morning," I asked, eyebrows arched.

Danny shrugged as he moved in closer to me. "It's just a good day," he replied as he leaned down and placed a soft peck on my lips. "It's another lovely day with the woman I love. And a wonderful pup." He leaned to the side and picked up his cup of coffee. "You ready to hit the road? I don't want Penny to get mad at you for being late."

I tore my eyes from his brown ones and nodded. "I suppose. Even though I really don't want to go in. I took too much time off for Pen and her wedding... I need a break from it all, but I think my next vacation will be christmas time, to go see my family," I mumbled as I moved ahead and kneeled down so I could pet Clay before I left.

Danny kinda stayed silent at that. "I'm going to go get the car started. Make sure you have your purse. I don't want you forgetting it like you did last week," he called over his shoulder as he grabbed his keys off of the hook by the door.

I nodded. "Alright, I will be right out," I said as I stood up and looked down at Clay. "I will see you tonight, buddy. Be good for Danny later, okay?" He only tilted his head to the side as he looked up at me with this big puppy dog eyes.

I picked my coffee up again, then grabbed my purse and made my way toward the door. "Alright, boy, I'll see you tonight. I love you," I said and moved out the door. I made sure it was locked, then bounded down the steps toward Danny waiting in his car.

"We all ready," he asked as I slid into the car and placed my coffee cup down in his cup holder. I nodded at him as I buckled. "Alright, then I guess we are off." He shifted the car into park and began driving.

I let out a sigh as I leaned back into the seat. "Why did Penny need me in so early? We have no big meetings today," I mumbled as my eyes fell shut. "Do you maybe wanna do lunch today? I'll need to get out of the office at some point. Eleven hours in that place will drive me insane."

Danny smirked as he kept his eyes on the road, but nodded anyway. "Sure. I'd love to do lunch," he said as he took a left hand turn.

I paused. "Danny... Why did you just take a left? My building is down there," I said as I pointed behind us.

"Well," he mumbled as he glanced over at me, with a small smile on his face. Ugh, what a beautiful smile. "Please do not be mad at me..." I looked at him in confusion, telling his to continue. "But, I set this up with Penny a few weeks ago..."

"Set what up," I asked, my eyes wide. "Getting up really early to just fuck around? You know how crabby I can be without sleep, Danny!"

Danny chuckled and nodded, still smiling at me. "Trust me, Jame... I know... But I wanted to take you on vacation, this was the only way that I was going to get you to come with me," he exclaimed as he stopped at a stoplight.

I rolled my eyes. "Damn right! Danny, how much are you spending?! I mean! Ugh! Where are we even going," I said, looking at his with wide eyes. I could not believe he was doing this.

Danny shook his head. "That, I cannot tell you, my lady. That will be a surprise for when we land," he replied with the biggest grin I'd ever seen on his face. He needed to stop, or I was going to give in!

"What about Clay," I asked, my eyes wide and mouth dropped. "We can't just leave him back for however long we'll be away!"

"Well, I've got Tommy picking him up later... They'll be watching him for the week," Danny said with a small shug. "You know how Vivi loves her dogs!"

I rolled my eyes. "What about my days off! I only get two weeks off... I used like a week for Jules and Pen's wedding! Now I can't go home for Christmas," I shot at him, my eyes wide at the realization.

Danny shook his head. "It'll be fine! You'll still be able to go home! Nick approved of the extra days off," Danny reasoned. "There is no need to worry at all, Jame... Don't you trust me?"

I let out a sigh, looking right into those brown eyes, relaxed a bit, and nodded. "Y-Yeah... I do... But what about our clothes! We can't go without clothes, Danny!"

"Those are already packed. And whatever I forgot, we can just buy another of! It's no big deal at all! Please relax you're on vacation now, there is no need to worry about anything," Danny replied, as calm as could be.

I rolled my eyes. "Can't you tell me where we are going at least?! This is my vacation too," I complained, and shot him a little pout and crossed my arms.

He chuckled and rolled his eyes. "Relax, Jame... That's for you to find out! If you're disappointed in it, then you can be mad at me... But for the meantime, please just relax."

I tightened the arms that I had crossed against my chest and let out a long huff. "Ugh. Fine."
