I pushed the door open and slowly helped Danny through the doorway. He was feeling better— even looked better than when I first got to the hospital, but he still needed his rest.

"Is the couch okay? They said it would be the best place for you so you don't roll on to your side," I said as I gripped onto Danny's hip a little tighter. I didn't think he would fall, but I was too nervous the he could.

His hand on my side tightened as he let out a shaky breath. "Yeah, please," he mumbled quietly. He was sounding better than he did when we left Pittsburgh, but I still didn't want him to over do it. Too much of anything— heavy breathing or too much movement scared the shit out of me.

I got him over to the couch, where I helped him sit, then slowly swing his feet up to he could lie back. "Do you want another pillow? So you're sitting up a bit more?"

Danny let out a huff as he shook his head. "No. I just want meds. And to sleep." He rested back into the small pillow that was behind him and sucked in a shaky breath as his eyes slowly fell shut.

"Okay," I replied and his eyes opened again. "But you gotta eat a little something first. The doc said it isn't good for you to be taking your meds on an empty stomach."

Danny let out a sigh, but nodded anyway. "Where's Clay?" He asked. His pain filled brown eyes were full of curiosity. I could tell he missed the little guy, the two fed off each other.

"He's still at Pen and Jules'. They said they could bring him over once you're settled," I told him. "Now what do you want to eat? Peanut Butter and Nutella sandwich?"

Danny's eyebrows darted up. "Yes please," he said quickly. "That sounds great. I think you should tell them to bring Clay now. I miss him."

I rolled my eyes. "Of course you do," I grumbled. "But you two can't cuddle. He could hurt your ribs! And him seeing you could get him riled up! He could jump on you!" I sounded like a mother hen, but I was just worried. I didn't want to have to rush him to the hospital because he injured himself yet again.

"It'd be worth it," he said with a pout. "I love my little guy."

I rolled my eyes again as I made my way toward the kitchen. He only wanted Clay, why was I caring so much about him?

"Hey," I greeted Julian. "Thanks for bringing him home." I thanked as I squatted down to wrap my arms around my little guy.

Julian squatted too so he could pet Clay. "He was a good boy. Definitely missed you guys, though," He said, his blue eyes carefully studying me.

"I've missed him," I mumbled as I placed a kiss on Clays head. "I'm glad he's been good— that's how I raised him." I sucked in a shaky breath and tore my gaze away from Julian's oceaney eyes.

"How's he doing?" Julian asked softly. "Was the talk with the Doc okay? Was the plane ride okay?"

I looked back up to meet Julian's eyes. My eyes were beginning to water. "H-He's fine. He's sleeping right now. He took his meds like an hour ago."

Julian looked less than amused. "What about you? Are you okay?" He questioned. His blue eyes were soft and caring, but his face was emotionless— Penny must've told him.

I shrugged as I hugged Clay a bit tighter. Inreturn he nuzzled his snout into the crook of my neck. "I'll make it," I whispered.

"He would never, Jamie. He loves you," Julian told me. "You've brought him so much more joy than she ever did."

I shook my head as I stood up and wiped my tears away. "I'd like to think that," I mumbled. "I-I'll talk to him when he's feeling better. You should probably go... Spend time with Pen.. Make food... Since Danny can't," I told him. "Thank you for watching Clay for me."
