M O N D A Y

Delilah sat on the chair across from me. She was dressed in a sweater and some shorts, she looked tired, and as though she'd been crying a bit. But she was still the finest.

I was sitting on the hospital bed, looking straight at her. She stared back at me with no fear, hesitation or nervousness in her eyes. I gave her a small smirk, but her face remained nonchalant.

"Are you supposed to be sitting up like that?" She asked me.

"Nah. But I'm tryna get up out of here." I said to her. I picked up my crutches and stood up. I hopped around the room a couple times just to show off. "I'm good to go." I smirked again. The moment the last syllable exited my mouth, I lost my balance.

One of the crutches fell to the floor and I was about to fall as well. Delilah caught up with me. She was small and fragile, so I expected her to be weak... I should've known otherwise though, judging from the hits and shoves she's dealt me several times before.

I hooked my arm around her shoulder and she held onto my side as I limped back to the bed. "I'm good to go, headass." She mocked with a laugh.

She sat beside me as I stabilized myself and I couldn't help but laugh too.

Delilah rolled her eyes, standing up and moving away so that she could go back to the empty chair she once sat at. I stopped her in her tracks when she ended up in front of me, standing between my legs. I held onto her waist and pulled her slightly closer to me, looking her in her deep eyes.

"What are you doing boy?" She asked me, looking down at me as well, her hands holding onto both my shoulders.

"Roll yo eyes again. I missed seeing that." I said, thirstily biting my lips. I hated to admit that it was true. Delilah had one of the most disgusting attitudes I'd ever come across, but being away from her for this length of time had me missing all the odd little things I'd usually hate.

Like earlier today when she was eating that damn twinkie. She would break it in half and lick all the cream out of it before putting the cake into her mouth. That shit irritated me, but I couldn't help but smile at it when I saw it happen. And how she would act all tough around Jayden and my other friends, knowing I could silence her in a nanosecond, but whatever.

"You missed me being mean?" She asked with a small smile and I nodded.

"I missed you." I mumbled, "Don't leave me again. I can't take care of myself and you know that."

"You ain't give me a choice."

"And you ain't give me a chance." I pulled her a bit closer to me. My head laid on her stomach and she rubbed her hands up and down my head. I closed my eyes lightly. I loved the way she touched on me even when it wasn't sexual. No other female has ever had this effect on me. I couldn't get close to enough of Delilah. "I love you girl. Only you. And ima marry you soon, watch and see." She snickered a little, and as she did, I opened my eyes and placed a kiss on her stomach, then looked up at her, "You believe me?"

"I believe you." She said, rubbing my cheeks now. Her eyes raked over my entire face, "I love you too baby."

I knew them doctors had to let my ass out of there today, and so said, so done. It took a while to convince them, but they finally discharged me and assigned me a nurse that would check in with me at home, everyday.
