Everything Started from Here
Part 3

I cut school without thinking. I had nowhere to go.
It was hot, I had no money and nothing to do.

Namjoon was the one who suggested that we go to the sea.
The others seemed excited at Namjoon's proposal.

I didn't really care. It was something to do at least.

"Do you have any money?' I asked Namjoon.

"How much do you guys have?" Namjoon asked the others.

They all began to rummage around in their pockets. All they came up with were a few scarce notes and coins.

"We can't go..."

"Why don't we walk?" I think Taehyung made that suggestion.

Namjoon gave Taehyung a look as if to say:
"do you ever think before you speak?"

Everyone but me was talking and laughing for no reason, fooling around.
I stood on the sidelines and watched them silently.
I wasn't in the mood.

The sun was beating down on us. It was midday and the trees provided no shade for us to sit under. There were no sidewalks along the asphalt road, and every time a car passed, a thick cloud of dust puffed up into the air.

"Let's go there."
at this point that could've been Taehyung or Hoseok speaking.

I wasn't paying enough attention to acknowledge who had actually spoken.

I didn't really see any point in going to the grass flower arboretum. Should I have told them to go on without me?

Jimin bumped into me as I shifted my gaze. Jimin was frozen, his eyes and face contorted in such a way it seemed as if he'd just witnessed a terrifying event.

"Are you okay?"

Jimin didn't seem to hear me. His gaze was locked on the sign.
Grass Flower Arboretum: 2.1km.

His face was pale. I thought he was going to faint.

"Park Jimin!" I called him in vain.

He didn't move. His eyes were trained on the sign as if he'd die if he looked away.

"Guys it's too hot to go to the arboretum. Let's just go to the sea," I suggested in the most monotonous tone I could muster.

I didn't know what Jimin's issue with the arboretum was, but I thought it was best that we avoided it.

"But we're short on cash," Hoseok objected.

"We can walk," Taehyung suggested again.

"I think we'll be able to figure something out once we get to the train station.
We'll have to skip dinner," Namjoon added, earning whine from Taehyung and Jungkook.

Jimin finally tore his gaze from the sign once everyone started walking. He looked like a child with his head bowed and shoulders hunched as we walked to the train station.
I looked back at the sign once last time.
