"Alpha, wake up! Wake up!" Everything was distorted, people were screaming. I don't recognize my surroundings, I am in pain.

I see a young woman screaming at the top of a hill of light, she was wearing a beautiful white dress. She was pregnant, but blood was coming out of her.

Then I remember who that woman is.

"Mom!" I scream at her, trying to run at her. She raises her arms as if she wanted to hug me. "MOM! Wait! Don't leave! MOM!" I am crying and screaming, my feet were so heavy I almost couldn't move.

"Angelique! Wake up! They are coming! They have guns!" She tells me, she was even paler than before and her blood was becoming black. I scream even more.

"Angelique, reveille-toi! Ils ont besoin de toi!"

"Maman!" I shout, waking up. It was almost dawn. I am in my room, in my bed. Malcolm wakes up from my scream. I am sweating and feeling drained. I look around and get up.

"Angel, what are you doing? What happened?" Malcolm asks me, looking very concerned. I gulp down fear and try to regain my breath.

"We are under attack, I need to alert everybody. Get up!" I command, turning the lights on and calling out everybody in the pack.

"What do you mean we are under attack? How do you know?" He looks at me as if I was crazy but following my command and putting some boxers on and a pair of pants that were on the floor.

I am about to respond when the emergency alarm starts sounding around the village. This was not from me, this was from the northern frontier.

"They are here, common on, Mal."

We got out of our room and walked down the hall, our side had nobody to give us calm and privacy, but opening the door that takes us to the large hall, we see it was buzzing from people, have dressed, some children half asleep and some adults already wearing arms.

"Okay, people this is not a trial. We all know what to do," I mind-link and people start moving.

"What is happening?" Malcolm discreetly asked while we were running to the commanding room, where all the cameras were. "Where is everybody going?"

"The children and teenagers are going in their respective areas, they are under lockdown. They know the drill, they are supposed to hide," I open the commanding room and enter the passcode, but I see that Malcolm tries to enter with me.

"What are you doing? You are going with the children," I push him and he looks offended.

"Why can't I come with you, I am your mate!" He growls, thank god we were alone in the hall of the commanding officer.

I growl back.

"That is why you are my mate and I need you protected," I look around and see a soldier entering the hall.

"Damson, take Mister Luna here to the hiding spot, show him what we do here. Do not lose him," I command and push Malcolm next to the soldier.

"No problem, Alpha. Please follow me, Mister Luna," Malcolm glares at both of us but does as Damson asks and leaves.

I take a deep breath and enter the office, ready for everything.

"Is everybody in position?" I ask, getting 'Yes, Alpha' as a response. I put the cask on, to listen and communicate with the people on the field.

"Where are they?" I ask Zyla and Kiefer, the first and second officers in the commanding officer.

"We are still unsure how many they are, but your warning, Alpha helped with preparing the soldiers. They do have guns," Zyla is a petite 20-year-old with beautiful dark skin and 4c hair that grows upwards.

"They are hiding on top of the trees in their compound, situated in zone 13."

The idea of having house trees as a military base was from James when he was a little kid.

He wanted one, so when his father and I were constructing it, we both got the idea. It was perfect: Out of the view from the enemies, you can see down and have the best position. Nobody looks up.

The soldiers' compounds are a little more perfect than what James' got for his 3rd birthday. They were camouflaged, it was even bigger. It had communication devices, a resting room, and a bunker for all the armaments.

And some of the bigger compounds had a fake tree that had a poll to go under the earth, hiding underneath rocks or earth.

"What do those satellites show?" I ask again, stress involving my body. All my senses are extremely alert. My wolf and Alpha were ready to kill if anything happened to my pack.

"We think they might be about 20, from the satellite images show that they are very heavily armed. They used their AK-47s on us. No harm was done though," I nod.

"Let me talk to Cean," Everybody stops talking waiting for an answer, Zyla connects the big screen we had with the interior of compound 13.

"Cean, can you tell me what the situation is," Alexa entered the room, she looked angry and anxious. We nod at each other while I wait for a response, she takes a tablet and reads the little information we had at the moment.

On the monitor I see one of the soldiers look directly into the camera. Cean was a tall black man with piercing brown eyes, we dated when we were younger.

"Everything is under control, Alpha. But we are having problems with one of the soldiers, we don't know where he is. He had to transform into a wolf and run out of the territory," He responds, talking to the monitor.

Everybody there looks at the camera, they were 7, one missing.

This was not ideal.

"I will try and contact him. Now I want to know how everybody else is," I command. He nods back, looks at its group, and answers.

"We are okay, Alpha. What is our mission?"

"The wolf that is missing is Idris," Alexa tells me. I curse, I knew her since she was a baby, she was a shy she-wolf.

"Thank you, Alexa. Prepare yourself for backup and prepare my garment too," I tell her.

She doesn't hesitate and leaves the room. I breathe, calming my mind and open a bigger range of the mind-link, like that everybody was on the loop.

I could've used the microphone, but I knew these trespassers could be listening.

"Okay guys, this is what we are going to do..."
