"How mad is he?" I chuckled again, while Shia was stitching back my right shoulder.
My grandmother tries to contain her smile but fails when my aunt and uncle started laughing too.
"Oh, he is mad, really mad. He almost bit my head off when I told him you got shot, stabbed, and poisoned," Victrix says, making her husband laugh even more.
I shake my head trying to control my glee.
"Okay, let the poor man enter, he must be bad-shit crazy not knowing about you for so long," My grandmother finally orders and the soldier goes outside the conference room to get my raging Malcolm.
Joshua and Alexa were there, receiving calls from the mayor's office and trying to pinpoint who these attackers could be.
They could've been sent by my uncle.
Or have had nothing to do with him.
But you know, there were way too many coincidences to just be a random human attack.
"Where is she? Where is that suicidal motherfucker? Where is my mate?" We all hear from down the hall, making everybody in the room giggle.
I roll my eyes at how my mate was going crazy while he barges into the room and runs into my side.
"Mal, you really need to calm down. I am fine," He doesn't even let me try to calm him down, he just violently hugs me and kisses my temple.
I was so shocked, everybody was.
Even Shia, who dropped all her things when Malcolm grabbed me, she just didn't know where to look.
She looks so surprised that this man, whom everybody thought I loathed. And here I was hugging him back.
Clumsily, I might add, but at least I was doing something.
"I'm fine, dumb-ass. I am fine, but Shia here needs to finish the stitches of my wound," He hugs me even harder, sending me a wave of overwhelming happiness and dread.
But then it dawns on me if he was in my position I would've killed him if he got hurt.
Well, I should hide my hypocrisy for now. I am fine and he is just overreacting, this is my job.
"I'm fine, Mal."
He slowly stops hugging me and helps me back into my chair, but doesn't leave my side and keeps his eyes strained on me.
My whole family just looks at me sheepishly and I don't even mind. I don't mind when I have this amazing guy looking at me like that.
Oh, Goddess mine, this is my guy.
"Malcolm, if you don't mind my asking, we would like it if you could talk to us more about the man who recruited you? We need more information, anything can help," My grandmother asks him. He looks at her then at me who was still getting patched up by the poor doctor.
"Of course, anything that can help," He takes a chair next to mine, his left hand never leaving mine.
"The 'Alpha' liked to send his people to this bar, always the same hour. They would all have the same stench and would mostly look sick and would always have the same fazed face when they would talk," Malcolm says, pointing at a point in the large tablet in the conference room.
Lilith and Alexa write every information he is giving us.
Joshua was showing google maps, waiting for my mate to recognize anything in the pictures. Something was off.
My grandma, my aunt, and my brother were on my side, listening and sometimes mind-link each other when an idea would pop up.
The admission ceremony was in 5 days, but right now we were more concerned with my uncle's whereabouts.
