"So you're telling me that you have found your mate almost 6 months ago and didn't have the decency to tell your beloved aunt?" The woman gasps at Malcolm, making him look very uncomfortable.

I was in the hall, trying to not listen to the conversation my mate was having with his only living relative.

I knew I could just go in and try to explain to his aunt that it wasn't his fault, but mine but he asked me to stay outside until further instructions. He wanted to break-in the information first.

"Aunt Leïla, it was more complicated than that," He tries to explain but the woman doesn't hear him. Her rage only growing when he spoke.

"You ungrateful pup, I have taken care of you since you were 14 and this is how you repay me? I can't believe this! And nobody had the decency to tell me! That is even worse!" I hear her say in her medical room.

When we first found Leïla Barnes, she was waiting for her nephew with other less than capable fighters, we found out she had stage one cancer. So, to be sure she had the best medical care we could provide, she was now being taken care of in the humanly possible, in the village near our pack.

It was a separate wing from the human side because she needs some special treatment as a wolf.

"Now where is she? Am I supposed to still wait to meet her? Am I supposed to continue on waiting, huh? I have cancer, what am I supposed to do, wait until I am dead to meet her?!" She snaps again, making my wolf even more nervous.

This wolf didn't joke around.

I hear Malcolm's voice but can't understand what he says. Then the oldest wolf voice boomed into the wall of her room into the hall where I sat put, scared shitless.

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN SHE IS OUTSIDE WAITING TO MEET ME?? Go get her, you stupid child! I am not getting any younger! MOVE!"

Next thing I know I see Malcolm in the hall, looking like he zapped his way out of the room. He looked pale. I gave him a small smile before he mouthed 'sorry'.

Now, I feel a little more nervous than before. I get up and link my fingers in his, trying to give him a little bit of support.

He opens the door and we enter the small room.

Leïla Barnes is a petite indigenous woman. Her long black and white hair was braided in two. Her skin was a little lighter than Malcolm's but had the same silver eyes.

I felt my wolf bark out at her, happy to meet this strong blooded woman.

She was glaring at Malcolm until she saw me appear, she grinned so much I saw all her canines. I felt her aura getting all giddy and she got up, putting her arms around me.

Malcolm almost gasped, not expecting his aunt to hug me.

"Oh, dear, look at you. My goddess, you are so beautiful!" She puts her palms on my cheeks, making me crawl to be face to face. Her silver eyes were looking at every detail in my face, her smile growing.

"Look at you, a real Alpha. You are beautiful."

I was entranced by the small woman, feeling my cheeks blush at all her compliments.

Then her face transformed, facing Malcolm, scowling.

"How did you get her?" She asks him with disdain, making me try to regain my composure and not burst out laughing. Malcolm rolled his eyes and glared at me mockingly.

"Don't roll your eyes at me, Malcolm! I did not raise you like that. How can you handle him?" She asks me, making me lose it and start laughing.

"Aunt Leïla-," Malcolm growled at her, getting a little annoyed.
