They're both 16. Their windows are so close together that they could easily hold hands if they reached out. Their windows are also facing each other....(There are a lot of time skips too)
Seokjin POV
I sit at my desk in my bedroom, and rest my head on my arms. My Appa is forcing me to stay in my bedroom, while he prepares dinner. He doesn't like it when I tell him how to cook. I lift my head after a moment, and furrow my eyebrows. Did someone move in next door? I've been staying at my friend's house for about a week, so I wouldn't know if someone moved in.
A boy about my age walks into the bedroom in that house, shouting into his phone. He finally ends the call, and throws the phone to the side. Our eyes meet.
"Sorry....was I being too loud?" He asks.
"No, you're okay." I say. "I'm Kim Seokjin."
"Kim Namjoon." He smiles.
"Namjoon, get your butt down here! We're going to have dinner with the neighbors!" His Eomma shouts.
He waves shyly, and leaves the room. Hmm. He's kinda cute.
"Seokjin, come here please!" Appa shouts. I walk downstairs, to help him.
"Yeah?" I ask.
"Our new neighbors are coming over for dinner. Could you set the table please? Five settings." He asks.
"Of course." I set the table for five people. I smile sadly at the empty spot. My Eomma left my Appa and I, shortly after I was born. Said she didn't want to be burdened by me.
As soon as the doorbell rings, I answer it. "Welcome to our home." I bow. "It's nice to meet you."
"Aww, you're so sweet!" The lady smiles. "I'm Mina. This is my husband, Hyosang. And my son, Namjoon."
"N-Nice to meet you." Namjoon bows, a slight blush on his face.
"Follow me. My Appa has just finished preparing dinner." I say. I lead them into the dining room.
"So Seokjin, What school do you go to?" Mina asks.
"Just the local high school. I was offered a spot in one of the higher up private schools, but I declined. A lot of the kids up there don't like me very much." I say.
"Why not? You seem like a kind boy." Hyosang asks.
"Uh.....I'm gay. That's why." I bite my lip. It's silent for a moment, before Mina responds.
"Namjoonie here is gay too! That's why we had to move. Too many horrible people out there, that won't accept him." She says.
"If you're going to the public school, I think you'll like it. The people are very nice, and accepting." I say to Namjoon. He nods quietly. I guess he's shy.
After dinner, Appa and the neighbors start to talk. "Seokjin, why don't you take Namjoon up to your room."
I nod, and lead the boy upstairs. "Here it is. Sorry for the mess, by the way. It's just my notes, and textbooks." I say. I smile slightly when I don't get a response.
"You're not a very talkative person, are you?" I ask.
"N-Not really." He blushes. "I like to keep to myself."
"Do you want to walk to school with me tomorrow? I think you and I will be great friends." I say.
"Th-That sounds nice." He says.
*2 Months Later*
I wake up in the middle of the night, feeling a bit concerned for some reason. I sit up, and look over at Namjoon's house. He's sitting up in his bed, his knees pulled to his chest. I walk over to the other side of the room, and open my window.
