xviii. twin sisters and tv shows
Aaron, Justin, and I were playing at Justin's house. Robin and Rebecca were there too, but they tried to leave us alone. Most of the time.
Justin was digging through the board games in his closet. "What do you guys want to play?"
"Anything but Candy Land," I told him. "Noah's always playing that."
"How about Sorry?" Justin asked.
"Sure," I said.
"I don't want to play a board game," Aaron said. "I brought my Star Wars action figures though."
"You can decide," Justin said. He took out a book and started reading. Justin's books were just getting thicker and thicker. I would never be as smart as Justin.
"Maybe we can play outside," Aaron said.
"Yeah, that sounds fun," I said. Playing outside was more fun at home though, especially since we had the treehouse now. I loved that treehouse. Nobody could bother me up there.
We went outside, but Rebecca and Robin were already out there. "Hey McKenna!" Robin said. Or at least I thought that was Robin. They still looked the same.
"We haven't seen you around here in a while," Rebecca said.
"You should have come out here a little earlier," Robin said. "We're just putting away the sprinkler."
That would have been fun. "Can you take it back out?" I asked.
"Nope. Sorry McKenna," Robin said. "You can watch TV with us though."
I didn't watch a lot of TV at home. Maybe this would be fun. "Come on McKenna," Aaron said. "Don't you want to play with us?"
Now I had a choice to make. Choices. I didn't like them. I could play with the big kids. Rebecca and Robin were always lots of fun. Maybe they would make me look like a princess again. But then there were Aaron and Justin. They were fun to play with too.
I ran towards the playground with Aaron and Justin and Rebecca and Robin went inside. Justin played on the monkey bars, Aaron played on the slides, and I played on the swings. Justin's swings didn't go as high as the ones at school, but they still went really high. I still felt like I was flying.
I could see into Justin's house and I saw Rebecca and Robin playing games on the TV. We couldn't do that at our house. It looked cool.
I saw Daddy pulling up into the driveway. I jumped off the swings and said goodbye to Aaron and Justin. Hopefully, I would see them again soon.
