xxxv. school and boredom
I had officially decided that school and boredom were synonyms.
Synonym - a word or phrase that means exactly or nearly the same as another word or phrase in the same language
I just couldn't wait for recess, but that wasn't going to happen anytime soon. I looked at the clock. 8:35. School had barely started. Our new teacher, Mrs. Brown, never let us do anything interesting. Third grade had just become one long nap time.
I looked over at Aaron and Justin. Aaron was almost as bored as I was. Justin seemed fine though. He liked school. I didn't know why.
The girl behind me tapped me on the shoulder. "This is for you," she said. She gave me a small piece of paper. I opened it up.
I'm so bored - Aaron
Next to the note, Aaron had drawn a little picture of a bear snoring. I giggled and started writing back.
I want to go to recess now! - McKenna
We started writing back and forth with Aaron drawing little pictures sometimes. The conversation went something like this:
Aaron: Yeah, but it's cold and there isn't any snow.
Me: That's no fun :(
Aaron: I know. I just want to go home.
Me: Me too. I want to play in the treehouse.
Aaron: That would be fun.
I started writing another reply, but I caught Justin looking over my shoulder. He would definitely tell Mrs. Brown. I didn't know what she would do to us, so I stuffed the paper into my binder. I looked at the clock. 8:38. I couldn't wait until recess.
A/N: Have any of you listened to the new Fall Out Boy song? FRENCH HORNS!!!
