lv. daydreaming again and trying to believe

It was spring again. The little kids were looking for four leaf clovers in the grass, but I knew they wouldn't find any. I had looked there every spring for years and I never found any. Maybe I just had bad luck.

Aaron and Justin were playing on the jungle gym again. "Hey McKenna!" Aaron shouted.

"Hi Aaron," I said. Aaron helped me get onto the jungle gym.

"So McKenna, we were thinking of studying together tomorrow," Justin said.

"I can't," I said. "I have bowling."

Aaron rolled his eyes. "You're always at bowling."

"It's fun," I said. Sometimes I wished Aaron and Justin would join bowling, but I didn't see that happening anytime soon.

"Are we going to play?" Aaron asked.

"Not today," I said.

"You're no fun," Aaron said.

I shrugged. "I just don't really want to play today." I jumped off of the jungle gym and found a nice spot under a tree. I looked up at the dark clouds rolling in. It was probably going to rain later. I leaned against the tree. Everything was just so hard. Why couldn't Mom and Dad just get along? Why couldn't Aaron just leave me alone sometimes? Why couldn't life just be better?

"McKenna!" I heard Aaron shout.

"What?" I snapped.

"I found a four leaf clover!!" Aaron yelled.

"That's neat," I said. Aaron showed me the clover. Sure enough, it had four leaves. Maybe luck was coming my way. I sure hoped so.
