48. READ FOR HER TO LIVE

❝Once upon a time there was a Prince who wanted to be with the Princess all the time. So, he made a way to her heart.❞ I'm telling her a story that's written by yours truly.

❝What did he do?❞ she confusedly asked.

❝There's famous quote that says 'A way to a man's heart is through his stomach.' She's not a man, but he still did it to her. She loves to eat, that's why he always cook for her. Even though he sucks at cooking, he still managed to learn how to cook.❞ I smiled at her.

❝He really do love her,❞ she said, her voice was as sweet as a candy.

I caressed her hair. ❝Yes, he do, despite of her being blind.❞

❝She's blind? Like me?❞

❝Yes, he is more than willing to be her eyes while she can't see. He can do anything and everything just to see her happy.❞

❝Then? What happened next?❞ She's so curious. It's clear in her face expression.

❝Sadly, not every story ends with a happy ending 'cause the Princess still chose the brother of the Prince. She doesn't love him the way he does. The way she cared for him was also her attitude towards other people, nothing special. He just put meanings on it, that's why he got hurt.❞

❝Aw. Why did she chose his brother than him? E' he's always there for her? He cooks just for her and yet she did not choose him? He even lost his will to live a normal life just to be with her, to be her temporary eyes!❞ she objected.

❝Life is not a matter of chances but a matter of choices. You choose and face the outcome. It's either bad or good. You'll be happy, however, you'll hurt someone at the same time, because of that choice you've made.❞

❝So ungrateful. So unfair,❞ she commented.

❝Life is unfair. You don't always get what you want. That's life really. You lose them and you'll meet the better one.❞

❝Write more! I want to listen to you, telling the story you've made.❞

Yes, all she can do is to listen to me. She's blind and she can't read. It hurts seeing her suffering that's why I decided to write a story and read it to her. Reading is her hobby, but she can't do that anymore.

One day, I saw her, she almost end her life but I stopped her. She felt so worthless and useless that time, 'cause she's blind. She can't do the things she wants mostly reading. I really love her. That day I decided to write and read for her to live.

❝Are you done listening, baby?❞ my brother asked her.

She stood from her seat. ❝Thanks,❞
she said and walked away.

One more thing, she's married with my brother. The story that I told her earlier is the story of us. My brother got her pregnant and there's no way that he'll not marry her. So, they married each other. At first, there's always an awkward air between them but now, they are really in good terms. Even though she's married with my brother, I'm still willing to be her eyes. That's how much I love her. I'm willing to do everything and anything for her.
