❝Doc, there's a new positive patient in Room 143,❞ my assistant nurse said. She's gasping for air while her hand is on her chest.
❝You run,❞ I declared and wear my PPE.
I'm Hadji. A doctor. A frontliner.
You wanna know how does the coronavirus disease spread? I'll tell you. Covid-19 is primarily transmitted from symptomatic people to others who are in close contact through respiratory droplets, by direct contact with infected persons or by contact with contaminated objects and surfaces.
❝I'll go ahead,❞ pagpapaalam ko dito saka naglakad papuntang Room 143.
Patient's name is Angel Garcia. I stared at her face for a moment. She has this angelic face, pointed nose and thin-curved lips. Her name really suits on her.
She slowly open her eyes and caught me staring on her. Sht. What the hell did I do?! I just fcking stared at her?
❝W-Why are you staring at me?❞ fuck. Even her voice is so angelic. A music to my ears.
I fake a cough, ❝You look alluring,❞ I complimented.
She just look away and took a deep breath, ❝What's my condition now? When will I'm gonna die?❞
I looked at her in disbelief, ❝W-What?❞
Bakit kailangan pahirapan pa ako bago mamatay?❞ she asked and looked straight in my eyes.
She got these deep eyes that captivated my soul.
❝You will not gonna die. Look, we are all doing our best para lang matulungan at gumaling kayo. Ang hiling lang naman namin is tulungan niyo din sarili niyo.❞ I smiled weakly and continue, ❝You know that there is no cure yet, right?❞ she nodded her head, ❝While they are finding the cure, here we are helping y'll to recover by simple ways that we can.❞
A tear flow in her eye but she immediately shed it away. I squeezed her hand a bit.
❝Gagaling ka, okay?❞ I cheered her up. My brows furrowed when she didn't response. She just shifted her gaze.
❝Hey,❞ I tried to approach her and I got shocked when I say her tears flow down like an overflowing stream.
I pulled her into a hug and caresses her hair. ❝Hush. Stop crying. It doesn't suit on your angelic face.❞
I held her both cheeks, ❝Trust me.
I checked the levels of oxygen in her blood with a clip-on finger monitor. Her oxygen level is 85 millimeters of mercury. (mm Hg). A normal one.
I listened to her lungs. I compared the right side with the left side and compared the front of her chest with the back of her chest. As of now, her breathing is normal too.
May urgent meeting daw.
❝Good afternoon, everyone. Please, have a sit,❞ maawtoridad na saad ni Sir. Payawal, head Doctor namin.
