Natasha's cheeks become soaked with tears as she tries to catch the dust in her fingers. Her body shakes with sobs as the Avenger least willing to show her pain breaks down, the loss of the one human being that she loved as a daughter cutting through her like a knife. Everyone tries to console her, but nothing is able to dull the pain she felt as (y/n) slipped away.
She was clinging onto her, begging for her to help, but she couldn't.
She failed.
It was her fault.
If only she had killed that monster, (y/n) would still be with her. If only she had told the girl how much she loved her, maybe she wouldn't have hurt as much as she vanished.
She wishes that if only she could've spent those two years with her, things might have changed.
That if she could just turn back time, she could save her.
But she'll never know.
Because wishes don't always come true.
