yesterday, we lost this beautiful soul and amazing person.
chadwick boseman had such a huge impact on children, adults, and communities around the world. he showed that you can be a hero despite your skin color.
he brought diversity into the marvel franchise.
he opened my eyes to the world around us.
i'm not caucasian or white. i'm a poc, although i am not black. but when i saw black panther, i started realizing even more just how underrepresented poc are in mainstream media.
i've never seen a superhero played by someone of my race. neither have all the little african american or black children in the world.
at least not until they saw chadwick as black panther.
he gave them someone to look up to.
he gave them hope.
he wasn't like me, he was like them and he may have been like you, yet all of us viewed him as a hero. a step forward from this world where one group continues to persist over the others.
we miss him dearly.
my heart goes out to taylor simone ledward, leroy boseman, carolyn boseman, derrick boseman, kevin boseman, and everyone else affected by his passing.
chadwick, i want to thank you. you were a role model to millions. you stood up for what you believed, for the sufferings of your people, for who you wanted to support and love.
you were one of my favorite people and my all-time favorite superhero.
i hope you're flying high with stan lee.
wakanda forever.
