"Luca, take care of her. Make sure she doesn't run into that boy."  Aviana's father's voice came from the phone. The man named Luca smirked and nodded even though he couldn't see him.

"I will, don't worry. She has her eyes on me, besides I'm here, he isn't." He chuckled slightly and hung up. He walked back to the table where Aviana sat waiting for him.

"Did you order?" He asked sitting down, she smiled to him and nodded.

"Of course, I got your favorite. Hey Luca?" She asked he nodded and waved his hand.

"Do you want to stay in my empty apartment or go to a hotel?" She asked with a slight laugh, he laughed with her.

"Anywhere with you is fine." He held her hand, she didn't pull away.

"Your getting smoother, Luca." She winked at him, he laughed and took his hand off hers.

"So what did pa say?" She asked and took a sip off her drink.

"Oh nothing really, you know him. He'll say anything to keep you on the phone." He winked, she scoffed.

"Am I a child? I can walk out of the house without getting in trouble, my little prince." She smirked, he blushed and cleared his throat.

"My Aviana, please. You know how beautiful you are, what if some guy comes up to you?" He asked, she tisked.

"Some guy does that every day already. You see, I wake up and he's there, and when I sleep he's there, maybe I have a stalker?" She laughed, he pouted.

"So mean!" He stuck his tongue out. After eating and talking some more they left.

Luca is an old friend of Aviana's and has known her since she was five. They went to school together and continued to do so until she moved. They would meet up in the park and play, even when it would rain.

.............

"Aviana!" He ran up to her, she was seven and wearing a small red coat. He joined her in the puddle she was jumping in and danced along with her.

......

Time back then was sweet and happy, even though she would be sent away the next day. He would go see her every once and while but stopped when his mom told him to. But he went to London to study and met her at a bar. They remembered each other and started to hang out more.

Every happy story, ends in pain and every story must come to an end.

Luca was familiar with Aviana's nightmares and her curse. Because of that her father made Luca an offer, to let him stay by her side. Where ever she would go, he would to. But he was wanting to stay by her side, anyways and said no. He wanted to stay by her side but he also wanted her to have some freedom.

Aviana trusts him more than she ever trusted anyone. She trusts her father but not as much as she does Luca.

That night they stayed at her apartment because it was cheaper. They slept next to each other on the floor. Aviana got hungry around midnight, so she went out. Luca was already asleep and so she snuck out. The closest place that was open at this time was a gas station a few blocks away.  As she walked there, the street lights kept buzzing around her. But when she got there she felt better, they no longer flickered nor did they buzz. That's when she knew, she knew that she wasn't safe.

She bought some food and waited for a bit while eating them. She then tried to call  Luca but he didn't pick up. She tried calling him many times, when he still didn't pick up she decided to walk home. There were no taxi's in this area and no buses at this time, she could only walk home. After taking a deep breath she took a step, and then some more. She walked about halfway when she started to feel uneasy. The lights started to flicker again and the buzzing from them was almost unbearable for her.

She bent down and covered her face with her knees and wrapped her arms around her legs. She stayed that way until someone cleared their throat. She looked up slightly, and saw a familiar face, Adonis. She stood up and nodded to him before walking around him, but he grabbed her arm.

"You should say hello when you know someone." He let go, she turned to him. Surprised that he remembered her, she walked back to him.

"Hello, Adonis. How have you been?" She asked her voice slightly quiet and full of anxiousness.

"I didn't do it." He was quiet and spoke with no power or confidence in his voice. She looked down.

"Why not?" Her voice now slightly angry.

"Because I thought about my life changing in ways I didn't want it to." He turned around to her.

"It's been a while, Aviana." Adonis smiled slightly to her.

"Yeah, a year. How have things been? How's your father?" She asked, he sighed and turned to her.

"I'm going to college. And he's fine, no thanks to you." He mumbled but she still heard it.

"So what? Now your blaming all of the things that went wrong in your life on me?" She slightly yelled.

"Yes, yes I am! You're the one who left!" His voice started to raise.

"You are the reason I can't get out of my stupid curse and you, you are the reason I can't find love." His face turned red, and his veins popped out. He pointed at her with every word he spoke, it felt like knives stabbing her every time.

"Well then, maybe you should forget me. If I've caused you so much pain." She turned around but he stopped her.

"You idiot, if I wanted to forget you I would have." He turned her to him and hugged her. She pushed him away.

"You have no right! I would have tried to find a way for us to work out but you told me, everyone who had been watching us that night that you didn't care. That every word, every laugh and every moment we spent together meant nothing to you! I'm not going over that again. I have Luca, he's all I need, and or want. This is goodbye, Adonis." She walked away and he didn't follow, it was like neither of them could be together, like something tore them apart.

Fairy tales are an amazing thing to help teach children different things. To help them grow. This one is one of the ones that teaches, but it teaches those older and more stubborn.
