Light, dark. Black, white. Good, bad.
When we think of these things we think difference. But it's more of balance.
I opened my eyes again, this time another goal in my mind. My smile growing again, more than it used to. Things have changed, I have changed.
                              ........
I started to walk back home, after going to the hospital to see Lee. I bought her dinner and said goodbye.
I went down an alley for a short cut. It was dark but with the street light I could see. I didn't hear anything, which was more than just a little weird. I was just on the main road and it was filled with people. I kept walking, my head down. When I got to the end I sighed and turned to the right.
I was surprised when I felt someone touch me, when I turned I didn't see anything. I didn't feel scared, almost relaxed.
"You have done something, something that was not for you to do. You may have saved your friend for now but time will tell you failed. As for me, you have condemned me to die. I have to run and hide away because of you. Good bye, Adonis Alexander Moore."  His voice was deep and he sounded angry and disappointed.  After he said those words he left and I no longer felt that relaxation I felt before.
I could hear the people on the main road and the cars driving down it.  The light wasn't as bright as before though and held a deeper gloom. I sighed and continued.
"He's an angel, why did he have to choose such a creepy place?" I mumbled to myself, the truth was I understood him and missed him already. I felt better but I felt like something was missing now. Something I've been living with my whole life, him.
I started to whistle, wanting something to do and to make me feel more safe.  I turned again and found myself behind the building. I was walking to the front when someone bumped into me.
"Watch  where you put ya feet." His accent was thick but it wasn't a British one. More Scottish.
"Sorry." I mumbled loud enough for him to hear, he nodded and let me pass through. I wonder why he did that on purpose.
I came inside, my face slightly pink from the cold. I went up to our floor and sat on the couch. I was about to take off my coat when I felt something in my pocket. I grabbed it.
"What the?" I looked at it closer, it glowed for a minute before going back to what it was before. I brought it up to look at closer.
"Hello!" When I looked through it I could see a spirit. I brought it down from my eye, it was gone.
"Oh, I see." I brought it back up.
"Umm, yeah thanks. I can't believe he gave me to a no good idiot." He scoffed, it was a kid. He didn't look to be more than 10.
                              "What's your name?" I asked.
"None of your beeswax!" He yelled at me and stuck his tongue out. Wow! What a little brat!
"Why did he give you to me?" I asked.
"Well, you're Luca Pilieo right?" I shook my head.
"No, I'm Adonis Moore. Luca's my friend."
"Well then, he gave me to the wrong person. That makes more sense, I was worried for a minute." I raised my fist but put it down knowing that I can't hit him and I shouldn't.
"Wait here." I dropped the weird cube thingy and ran to get Luca. I knocked on his door.
"Come in!" I opened the door. Luca was on his bed and Aviana was laying on his arm. They were watching TV.
"Sorry, but I think I have something for you." He got up.
"I'll be back." He whispered to her and kissed her forehead. He walked past me, into the living room.
"What did you mean by you think it's for me?" He asked.
"Well, it said it was for you." His eyebrows raised.
"It said it was for me?" I nodded.
"It said, You're Luca Pilieo right? And I said no." He nodded.
"Ok, but how did it know my name? I don't use Pilieo unless I want to go unnoticed."
"Well, I have no idea." I shrugged, and handed it to him.
"A cube talked?" He looked at me like I was joking.
"Yeah, hold it up to your eye."
"I don't need to, you meant to say that this cube can help you speak to the dead. And talk to them, right?" I nodded, confused.
"Umm, yeah how did you know?" He crossed his legs.
"Because, I can hear him." He held the cube up, we both saw him. He was complimenting Luca.
"So, Jack was it?" He asked, the boy nodded.
"Well Jack, what can I do for you?" He asked, his voice sweet.
"I need to make sure that my parents know that I'm okay." He nodded, this side of him was new. He was sweet to the kid and was smiling to him.
"I will make sure to do that. How did you die?" He asked, the kid looked down.
"I burned. The fire was my fault, I was told not to play with the lighter but didn't listen. My parents were gone." He finished.
"Well, Jack I think you learned your lesson. Let's let them say goodbye." He nodded and then Luca set the cube down.
"I have to go. I'll take the cube, thank you." He stood up with the cube and was about to leave when I stopped him.
"Are you really going to find his parents?" I yelled to him, he stopped and turned around.
"Do I ever break my promises?" He had a small smile on his face.
                              "No."
"Your right, I don't." He walked back into his room. I thought about that kid the rest of the night.
"Why ask for Luca's help?" I was playing video games. I don't like them all that much but they keep my hands busy and my mind free to think. I turned it off and climbed into bed. I turned off my light and closed my eyes.
