A Quiet Day

When Adonis woke up the next day things seemed to be quiet, no one talked. Aviana was in her room for most of the day. She didn't feel like doing anything. Adonis stayed in Luca's room, he was crying in Luca's arms. He couldn't stop, Luca tried to calm him down.

"Let's go for drink, huh?" Luca rubbed his back and lifted his head.

"Ok." Adonis sniffled, he was tired of crying.

They walked up to Aviana's room, they thought it's something she might like to do. Then walked to the pub. Adonis drank himself and Luca's weight. Luca tried to stop him and when that didn't work he made Adonis throw up. Aviana was on her third drink, and was drinking slowly.

"I never knew that this would happen, or I would've stayed with him." She mumbled.

"How do you think I feel? I left, and he died! I don't know how but he died!" Adonis laughed, but it was more of a cry.

"What do you mean? Didn't they tell you?" Luca sat down, Adonis shook his head.

"Unknown cause of death. They told me, so they have no idea how he died. All I know is that it's going to be a closed casket funeral. They said that he looked so bad that they didn't recognize him!" Adonis failed his arms around.

"I'll set up a funeral, I'll pay for it as well. We'll make sure he's laid to rest." Luca rubbed his back, Adonis sighed.

"I don't want that, I want him back! He wasn't supposed to die before me!" Adonis cried some more. Luca paid for their drinks.

"You coming Avi?" he turned to Aviana, she shook her head. He nodded and left. He took Adonis home and laid him down, he then went back and sat with Aviana.

"What's on your mind?" He drank a shot.

"What if my mother caused his death? Unknown, what do you know that could kill someone without anyone knowing?" She sat her drink down and turned to him.

"You have a point, I'll have an investigation. I'll make sure to find out what happened." He patted her back.

"Now let's go home." She nodded and got up, he walked her back.

The night was quiet, matching the day. Luca stayed up and got a place and time for Mr. Moore's funeral. He also hired some people to look into Mr. Moore's death. He sent out different things and only got back a few. He went to bed stressed.

The next day, Adonis was slightly better but not at the same time. He stopped crying but would drink a lot. Luca slapped him, Adonis's eyes were wide.

"Snap out of it. I need you all here!" Luca yelled for everyone, they finally all came. Luca was walking around while they all sat.

"What?" Aviana wasn't interested.

"I found out somethings. One, Mr. Moore was hearing noises before his death. Two, he would look behind himself a lot until his death but when others looked behind no one was there. Three, he started to talk about seeing a woman. This all tells us one thing, Aviana's mother killed him." Luca stopped walking and turned to the two who sat by each other, Aviana turned to Adonis. He didn't look anywhere but down.

"How do you know?" Adonis asked, his voice shaky and angry.

"I made sure to keep my promise. I found out on my own, the police couldn't go any farther so I did. I found out from his co-workers. I should've left some people with him but I never thought that she would go after him." Luca sat down and rubbed his face, he then ran his fingers through his hair. Adonis looked up.

"YEAH YOU SHOULD'VE! WHY DIDN'T YOU?" Adonis yelled at him, taking his anger on someone else.

"I know, I know." Luca stood up and hugged him, Adonis once more started to cry.

"Why didn't I think about him?" He cried harder, blaming himself.

"No one could've seen this coming. It's no ones fault but hers. Even if you stayed who knows what could have happened, who's to say he wouldn't still be dead and you dead?" Luca hugged him tighter, Aviana watched. She had tears in her eyes and smiled slightly, guilt eating her alive as well. She looked away and stood up and left to her room.

"I want to forget but I don't want to lose the only person who stayed by my side, even through hell." Adonis cried more. His tears and pain reminded Luca of his own. The difference being age, location and he lost both of his parents.

"You'll get through it. You aren't going to hurt this much in the future, you'll grow and learn from this pain. Think of this pain as one last gift from him."

........

"Yes, they are gone now, but they won't always be. You have them in your heart and you won't lose them as long as you remember them. This pain is the last gift they can give you, pain makes you grow and learn. I won't let you be alone, you can stay with me. You aren't alone, they will always care and watch over you. Be good and grow, they would want to see that." Mr. Rillin held the crying Luca in his arms. He had just lost both parents and Mr. Rillin would be his guardian for the next few years until Luca became eighteen. But he didn't move out and instead worked for Mr. Rillin. He would be Mr. Rillin's right hand man and was a natural for anything business.

He grew from the pain, like Mr. Rillin told him to and became stronger.

..............

"Sucky last gift." Adonis laughed slightly, Luca chuckled.

"It will feel like it at first, just grow. Let him see you happy and living your life to the fullest. I know that's what he would love to see." Luca smiled even though Adonis couldn't see him.

Pain doesn't go away, but time lessens it. If you get mad at someone who died, that's not hate. He hates his father for leaving first, but he doesn't. His 'hate' is misplaced love and a want for him. He takes comfort from Luca and Luca takes some of his pain, from knowing it. His memories are coming back, but somethings should be left in the past.
