„Come on, just take another step." one of the nurses demanded. Felix tried to do so, but his knees gave in and he tightly grabbed the two bars on each side of him. They and the strength in his arms were the only things that kept him from dropping to the floor. Therapy was torture. But he hoped it would be like the treatments: Painful at first, only to get better by time. It would've been better if Lina was there, but he understood she had to go to school. „Do you want to stop or continue?" a staff member asked while walking around the apparatus Felix was holding onto. „Continue" the boy said and tried to keep walking. He felt like the muscles in his leg were tearing apart, making him frown in pain. He wanted Lina. He wanted her so bad right now. And his mum. He felt like this typical four year old toddler, crying for his mum when she left him at daycare. He attempted another step, that was not SO painful anymore. „I'm doing good, right? Am I doing good?" he asked while looking at himself in the mirror. It was a good feeling, seeing his old and walking self looking back at him. „Considering it's your first time in a while to walk, you're doing really good. But it's time to stop now, Mr Lee. You've done enough for today." one of the head nurses said and removed her patient's right hand from the bar. He started to panic, knowing that he would ruin his freshly operated knee if he fell down. Felix somehow managed to get over to his wheelchair, sliding into it and releaving the pain off of him. His body was feeling heavy, making it almost uncomfortable to breathe. But that didn't matter to him. The only important thing was that he had walked again. He had walked! He couldn't believe it. He had done what seemed unreachable. Even if he walked occasionally, it was the first time doing it on his own and for so long. Felix wanted to tell everyone he knew what he had just accomplished. Really everyone. He wanted to know if his mum was proud of him. Lina would be proud for sure, but his Mum's opinion was slightly more important than his fiancée's. „So, Mr Lee" one of the nurses who was always there, asked. „what are the plans for your future?" „Well, I'm engaged now, and I'm planning to have a baby with my soon wife." The woman giggled. „Woah, that's so nice to hear! If we work hard enough, you can dance with her on your wedding day." „I hope so. I used to dance, and, I don't want to show off, but I was really good. I can show you a video of me dancing next time." Her face turned sad, and her gaze softened while she started organizing some things on a cupboard. „How long has it been since you danced last?" „I haven't really done my dance routine for over half a year now, but I've tried dancing just two months ago. That's too long ago in my opinion." He laughed. „Yeah, my fiancée says I'm very impatient. And I really am." He made a sudden decision to wheel back to the bars, attempting to pull himself up. But Felix was stopped by the nurse, telling him he needed a break. „When do you think I can get out of that thing?" He asked while readjusting the feet plates of his wheelchair. „Do you mean your wheelchair? Well.. If you keep on practicing and going to therapy, you could be a lot more stable at the end of the year. But I believe you should focus on school, 'cause it's your last year. And I think you want to graduate with all your friends, right?"
