"I'm sorry, but, we doubt he's strong enough to make it through the surgery. We won't even try it, it's too dangerous." a nurse outside said to Lina. Felix was in his hospital bed, shaking from pain and fear. The pain had gotten so bad, he couldn't think clear hardly anymore. The surgery was supposed to relieve him once again, but what was going to happen if he couldn't undergo surgery? He would surely go insane in no time! Li wouldn't always be there to hold his hand or simply comfort him. About her, she came back into the room, obviously fighting with her tears. “They can try it, really. I really really really can't take it anymore." he said once his girlfriend held his hand again. Even that wouldn't make it better anymore. “Felix, no. It's not my choice and you know that. They said they're going to give you stronger pain medication, and if that doesn't work, then.. Maybe then they're going to try and operate on you again." she explained and kissed her boyfriend, or fiance, on the cheek. “What's gonna happen now? Can I go home? Please say you'll take me home with you!" he begged. He knew he wouldn't be able to go home, or at least not stay there for long, but it was worth trying. “Not at first. You need a new wheelchair first. See, it's your fault that you can't go home." she insisted, making Felix just feel mad again. He didn't know what he was mad at, he just was. “I've already apologized! And I can't undo it now!" "Haha, Lixie, I was just teasing. I'm not too good at it though, I'll admit that." they started laughing, even if it wasn't that funny. What was going to happen next? Well, Felix just squeezed his girlfriend's hand tighter, trying to make the pain go away. “Why does it have to be me? Why? I don't want my life to be boring! I'm 18! I should be going around town and partying with my friends!" “Come on, I've got someone coming over for you, he'll be here shortly. I'm getting some coffee, honey. See you later." Lina said, removed her hand, kissed Felix and left the room. Did she even listen? Probably not. Just a minute after she left, someone knocked on the door. Lix didn't invite the person in, but they were next to him in no time. “Hey Felix. It's Hyunjin. I don't want to keep you from sleeping, but I just wanted to talk to you." he said and placed his hand on his friend's shoulder. Even this slight touch hurt like someone just shot him in the arm. “Look, I've brought you something to eat. Open up!" He did open his mouth after something touched his lips and a salty smell surrounded him. It was a Vegemite toast. The most tasty food there was. He couldn't help but smile brightly after eating his favorite dish after so long. “Thanks" Felix murmured and took another bite. He was going to vomit from it later on, that was sure, but he didn't care. “I've heard what you did with the wheelchair." the older one said and chuckled a little bit. “I don't want to say it's cool what you did but it's a crazy twist of events."he added. Both of them started laughing. “Yeah.. I wouldn't have expected myself to do that either." he explained, getting a bit teared up. Of course all of his friends must've heard about it by now. That was the only thing he didn't want to happen. "Who knows about the wheelchair thing, like my friends?" "I think just the dance team. And, Lina didn't tell me, I saw the wheelchair in the hall and asked about it." Sam said. But Lix couldn't focus anymore, due to the nausea already kicking in. “Get a b-bowl, quick!" he almost yelled and luckily, the older one was fast enough and there wasn't a mess. "You didn't even digest the toast." Hyunjin told his friend and got rid of the bowl. By the time he came back though, Felix had already fallen asleep once more.
