Ashur found himself dining with his parents this evening. After having lunch with Airish, his mother called him to invite him for dinner. He doesn't want to go but his mother is persistent. She said that they wanted to talk to him and that she misses him. But, he didn't said yes already. All he said is that he will think about it. But, guess he really loves his mother that he's with them now.
"Ashur." his father calls his attention.
"Yes, Dad?" he looked at him.
"What's your progress?" he's referring to his mission.
His mother brows knit. "What kind of progress? Do you have a new project, son?" her mother doesn't know anything about the mafia. That's the secret they are hiding from her.
"Yes, mom. Sa Ilocos Norte. A partnership with RGC." its all he can say.
"So, any progress?" his father repeated his question.
"There's a progress, Dad." he can't fully say that wala talaga. Hindi niya matanong si Airish dahil madami itong problema and he doesn't want to add up to that.
"Make sure to finished it sa lalong madaling panahon." his father stare at him for a long time.
All he could do is to nod. The more power they have, the more resources they can use. If killing is needed they will kill in order to protect his innocent mother. He needs to use Airish even if she's not in her normal state.
"I know you can do it, Ashur. I'm confident having a son like you." her mother innocently comforted him by her smiles.
"Thanks, mom." he smiled.
They resumed eating and chatting like a normal family for her mom. After the dinner, umuwi na siya sa penthouse niya. Sinalubong naman siya ni Bella.
"Hey, bel." he was patted her head and carried his dog towards the balcony's sofa.
He's staring at the night sky. Days with Airish is confusing the hell out of him. He shouldn't let his emotions affect him. Tapos na sila ni Airish. His feelings that he buried deep down shouldn't resurface anymore. Friendship not relationship. That's it.
"If I can turn back time. Will it change anything?" he muttered to himself.
He stand up and shook his head trying to forget his thoughts a while ago. He wants to sleep and forget it. Also, he's tipsy from drinking 3 bottles of wine. Talking to his mother is refreshing yet frustrating that he can't fully open up about his struggles.
As he lie down on his bed, naka-tulog na siya agad. Hoping for a better life he can call his own.
The next morning, he was awaken by his ringing doorbell and the barkings of his dog. Masakit ang ulo niya at umagang-umaga may nagpapasakit pa lalo. Kahit ayaw niya pang bumangon wala siyang magawa. That person is ringing his doorbell a hundred times already and he already has a guess who is behind that door.
"Good Morning!" bati ng taong pinag-buksan niya.
Tumingin siya sa wall clock niya. "What on earth are you doing here at 4 in the morning?" its still early.
"Well... Hmm... Ahm..."
"What is it, Airish?"
Hindi siya nito sinagot. She pushed him inside and pumasok 'to na bitbit ang aso at may hila-hilang maleta bago sinarado ang pinto.
