Chapter 40

I silently watched the kids playing on the ground with a wide smile plastered on their faces as the chirping sound of different birds popped in together with the very fresh wind brought by the sky as I paired it with a cold orange juice.

Indeed, drinking colds on times like this is not a bad idea. I should have done this when I was teenager. I'm not old, okay? It's just that, I'm kinda matured enough right now. Sounds like it.

"Are you really sure?" Asked by the guy who sat beside me holding a bottle of Soju.

Binalingan ko siya, "Sure about what?"

"That you'll graduate on your hometown. Why don't you finish here instead?"

I chuckled. This guy is pleading me not to go? I know he'll miss me. Beside, he's like a brother to me.

"Kailangan kong umuwi doon, Yuno. I've been here for four years. Isa pa, my parents and friends missed me too and I feel the same way." I gave him my small smile.

This guy is Yuno and you wouldn't believe that he was my senior at Lourdes. Hindi ko rin akalain na sila ang magiging host family ko rito sa Australia. He's half though.

"You miss them. Is he included in the them?"

I stiffened but laughed afterwhile. "Namimiss ko rin naman siya. Just a tiny bit."

Nakitawa rin siya at napapailing na tumingin sa akin, "You know, I'll miss you. We'll miss you. Dad and mom treat you like their real daughter. Looks like they love you more than me."

I smiled and at the same time, chuckled. His parents are so adorable! Para talaga nila akong anak dahil lahat ng gusto kong makuha ay binibigay nila. They're spoiling me too much. Kaya nga ako nagtagal dito ng four years dahil sa kanila. My one-year of stay here turned to be four-year. Nagagalit din sila kapag hindi ko sila tinawag na 'mom' at 'dad'.

"Mamimiss ka rin ni Thylane. She'll be back next year too. Just waiting for her graduation at Florida. Are you sure you don't want to watch her graduation?"

Thylane Canniloni is Yuno's younger sister. We're very close too even though she's only coming here on vacation. Para ko na rin siyang kapatid and she's also a spoiled brat.

"I badly want to but you know I can't. Mama enrolled me in the Lourdes and I should be back by June."

"Yeah and June is next week. That means, konti lang ang oras mo rito." He rolled his eyes in a very manly way.

Natawa ako. "Konti? Duh. Use your mind, bro. I've been here for four years."

He laughed at my remark. He turned serious after letting out his laughter and stared at me sadly.

"Pero seryoso, mamimiss talaga kita. It's not like I can visit Philippines anytime. I have a band here and I need to look forward on it."

I smiled. Ginulo ko ang buhok niya para naman mapangiti siya kahit papaano.

"Bakit hindi ka nalang kasi bumalik sa Zeravigne's Carol? They'll still accept you. Mabait 'yung manager at leader ninyo..." I suggested.

Napabuntong hininga siya ng malalim, "I know that they'll accept me, but I've made a big mess on Nozel's sister. Hindi ko kayang magpakita sa kanila."

I sighed deeply. Yuno told me about this matter. He wounded Nozel's sister and Nozel is also a part of Zeravigne's Carol. Although hindi ko pa nakikita in person si Nozel, I can say he's kind, dahil kung hindi, matagal na niyang sinaktan noon si Yuno.

"You'll be fine, trust me. And if everything gets fine, make sure you visit me in the Philippines, okay? With Thylane..."

Ngumiti siya at dahan dahang tumango. He pulled me closer to him and gave me a tight hug.
