Suddenly there was no more ground and we fell in a dark tunnel.
Mather lit her silver flames at her feet but I lit my blue ones in my hand, never quite getting that trick of hers.
"Hey Lin?"
"Yeah?"
"Stop a second, tie your hair back, I keep it short so it is out of my face as I fight, you are lucky it didn't blind you before, it could make you loose focus of your enemy."
"Right." But she already quickly did it.
"Lets not make hair the reason why you die...." I felt a strand not tied up do.
"Why you braiding my hair we need to hurry!" She braided the strand to the left right at my nape.
"It is important." I grabbed it when she was done, I had long hair in the back so I could pull it up eye level, surprised to find one of her usual hair bead fitted on it.
"Why?" I asked as she walked passed and I followed, letting it fall against my body.
"I gave one to your mother years ago."
"What does this do? I have no wild magic like you do."
"I know that, this is like hers, a simple luck charm, we never know what luck we might need for this and who knows when luck is actually what saved you?"
"So this like the one she always wears?"
"Since the day I gave it too her."
"Shouldn't you keep it? You could use it."
"Lin... I gave it to you, I would gladly die for you, if the luck can save you I will be glad."
"Why do you speak so easily of death?"
"One, because I know where I will end up when I die and two, my own mother told me I wouldn't understand why she was able to let herself die after she lost me and thought I was dead but now I know, I would die over and over again if that meant you and your siblings got to live.... Only a parent can truly understand, you could wish to sacrifice yourself for Fin, Kela or Kia but me willing to die for you isn't the same.... And like my mother told me.... You'll understand when you'll have children."
"Right.... Don't worry.... I don't plan on dying."
"I wouldn't let you even try."
------------------------------------------------
The tunnels were twisting and turning until they opened into a huge area that was deep underground but the rock was carved away so we could see the sky, the eclipse almost full.
We hid against the wall staring in, the whole side had tears through the air with scenery from spirit realms shifting behind a gold-ish veil and in the middle was a deep tear that was pitch black with black smoke seeping from it, twelve people surrounded it while chanting, the golden glow of the spirit gates stretching and grasping at the edges of the darkness and pulling it open a dark shadow hovering near with red eyes, many arms and several pairs of wings.... The evil moral-ed spirit....
I flicked the daggers out and sent them flying at the closest two cultist, if we stop them the gate to the void they are trying to make will close!
"You take them!" I told mather as I used one of the vines growing down the side of the hole to catapult myself at the spirit and shove us through one of the tears.
I stood in front of the tear, feeling the spirit magic blowing past me and being siphoned out as I took a solid stance as the spirit floated up.
"I will not let you go back!!" I yelled at it, sending it back with lashes of air and the vines from the forest lashing out, tying it up. "You are the cause for this whole mess!!" I was angry. "You told them where I was!! You made my fear for my life!! So from here on out I will show you who the master is!!"
I crossed my arms in front of my face and closed my fist before yanking they down by my side, chains of gold rose from the surrounding and stabbed through the spirit, its black and vile blood staining wherever it fell as it screeched in pain.
"I bind you to this plain and forest for all of eternity, you shall never be free again!!" The chains glowed strongly, tightening and tearing at the beings, pulling it apart just enough to over power his muscles of whatever it had instead of those and immobilizing it forever, more then it already was by nature.
I stepped out of the tear and gripped the top of the tear, pinching the two edges closed and pulled my hand down it and soon nothing but air was left in front of me.
"What do we do? It won't close" I said in worry.
"We need to close the tears, their spell made the spirit magic by pulled in the void and now it is just siphoning despite them being dead so no magic equals no tear to the void."
"Right!"
I quickly got to smoothing out the the tears.
Seven left.
Six left.
Five left.
Four left.
I glanced up, the eclipse will be total in barely any time!! Hurry up Lin!
Three left.
Two left.
One left.
But when I got to the last one...
I cried out in pain as something hard struck me down and threw me away from the gate, smacking in the ground and scrapping myself against it.
"W-what?!" I pushed myself on my elbows.
"Foolish are those that think they won~."
